Went ahead and bought my own Modem before switching to Comcast and this one has had no issues thus far. No problems at all. My ONLY con would be the lights on the front. They are BRIGHT, so if this will be in a room you will be in in the dark, then I recommend covering those lights up.

Docsis 3.0 ...... that's what you need to know! If you are a Comcast customer, this modem is much better than the modem they provide for you, & will save you the $8 a month to boot. If you do go that route & you need wireless, don't forget to purchase a wireless router as well.

Modem was simple to connect and setup. It works fine with a Netgear router, however a Belkin router I also have would not keep the wireless connection. Don't know what caused the problem but I just use the Netgear and all is well. Bought on sale at a good price and saves me the cable company modem rental fee. Will pay for itself in a few months.

Great modem, bought it for Comcast high speed internet. Easy to install, cheapest (or one of) modem available. There's no built in wifi though, so you'll need a wireless router if you want to connect wireless devices (iPads, iPhones, etc).

I got a letter from Comcast informing me that my modem was not DOCSIS 3.0 capable. Comcast recommended that I purchase a new modem. I went out and got the Motorola Surfboard. It was pretty easy to install. I just had to call Comcast to give them my new MAC ID written on the box and modem. My internet has been stable since the switch.

This is the same model I was renting from Time Warner. I bought it, hooked it up, and once TWC got it connected, it's been working great. Plus it saves me $7 per month on rental fees. It'll pay for itself in less than a year.
