The wired ports work almost flawlessly, however the wifi module reboots and drops constantly. It might be best paired with an extender or mesh network, but the modem itself is solid.

This is straight-up trash. The interface of poor, some of the pages are not even reachable which means some functions are unusable. There is no option for firmware flashing. The speed is ok but the connection drops every now and then. The price is too high for this piece of junk.

Purchased yesterday (4/14/24) and I have to return it already today. This model of Arris surfboards have widespread reports online of poor quality wifi components and after less than 24 hours of use it's already intermittently dropping wifi connections. Pretty useless, avoid and pay a bit more for better networking equipment.

Wired connection does provide gigabit speed but WIFI is slow and constantly drops every few hours.

I decided to try RCN Gigabit internet and, based on the reviews, purchased the ARRIS - SURFboard DOCSIS 3.1 Cable Modem & Dual-Band Wi-Fi Router. First of all, Internet providers never seem to provide the speed you are paying for. When using a Ethernet CAT7 cable I get between 550-750 Gbps; but when I am using the Wifi I only get 80 Gbps (same room, feet apart from the device). The iOS app ARRIS SURFboard Manager has 1 star at the app-store and rightly so. You won't be able to change the password or the network name using it. It just does not work. I you try to login to the to router via web manager a pop up alerts you that someone is already logged on to web admin and asks if you want to log them off. Once you choose to do so it keeps alerting you that another user is logged on. You have to literally reset the entire router to get back into web admin and still does not work properly. A terrible security flaw. I am returning it today.

I bought this router at Best Buy on 2/19/24, but it hasn't been functioning properly since. To fix my home internet problem, I had to replace it through Comcast. I aimed to save money by purchasing from Best Buy, but unfortunately, that didn't pan out. Despite having the router, receipt, and original packaging, Best Buy informed me that I can't get a refund for the defective product.

Only issue is that its application accepts a upper case letters when setting up a password. But, the password field does not accept them. They are converted to lower case. A frustrating and significant bug.

Average and okay, one down side is every now and then I have to reset it on the modem.

Just didn't have the signal strength for a 2800 sq. ft. home. Inconsistent signal strength and buffering all the time!

2.4ghz single continues to stop working after many resets, this item is going back to best buy. You're better better off getting a quality high-speed 3.1 modern and separate router, one that can support WiFi 6 for pretty much the same price as this junk.

Was not consistent enough for our internet needs. Retuned it for another brand.

The wifi does not go out far, ending up shutting the wifi off and connecting something else to it for wifi

I only bought it because of Xfinity ripoff rental. It does what it is supposed to do but lags sometimes.

We originally purchased a less expensive model and returned it for this one. It seriously never has internet connectivity; its always being a baby about something and it doesnt have any cute colors like its other Surfboard friends. I would definitely not recommend!
