Router dies after a month--past return window at Best Buy. Arris warranty sent a replacement which also did not work. They would not refund money or make right. There are limited options to work with Spectrum and this not a cheap option

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!
I have been having problems with my internet for months. I contacted my internet provider several times, they came to my house 4 times in one month to try to figure out the problem. They told me that the problem was my modem, but I didn’t want to believe it because I bought a brand new modem last year ( ARRIS MODEM), and a new router. Arris modem stopped working in July this year, I talked to them because I had warranty, so they asked me to send back their modem so they could try to fix it, while I was waiting I decided to get the modem S33 to give it a try as my provider told me to test it out anyways. My internet was working fine with he S33 modem, but I returned it as I got back my SB6190, which they claim to be compatible with my internet provider and claim to get 1.4GBPS. I was getting 13MBPS , 72 MBPS or sometimes no internet at all. Arris agent asked me look at the signals, so I did. She asked me to contact my internet provider and tell them that I wasn’t getting strong signals. Well, I contacted them and they told me that they were sending the signals, and the modem S33 was getting it, but the SB6190 wasn’t. Here I go again contacting Arris, I talked to them for 1.5 hour, for them to blame on my plan, internet provider, etc, and not resolving my problem. The agent hung up on me, so the next day I called them again. Again, the agent was telling me that my plan was the problem, but I had the 200 MBPS plan for the longest time, and I upgraded a couple months back, I have been having problems for 10 month. Their modem is for up to 1.4 GBPS how come my plan is the problem if I had 200Mbps internet for most time and then I have 1.2GBPS now? Then she started blaming AGAIN on the signals of my provider, then she told me that my cat 5 cable was the problem, even though they provided that cable. It was always an excuse, what I wanted was them to recognize their mistake, give me a refund or send me the S33, and I would send back their SB6190 ( as I got a brand new one in July). I ended up talking to her supervisor, who was extremely ruder and told me that he wasn’t going to do anything. I am stuck with a modem that doesn’t have the internet that I need, and now I new modem that it does. I spent too much money on this, so I suggest for everyone to go and buy a good modem, DO NOT BUY FROM ARRIS.

Disappointed

I got really excited when I went to BestBuy and found out that this was a brand new product that wasn't released yet.
Hooking this up was a huge pain, I had to contact Arris and XFinity to just hook it up.
It feels incredibly light, I'm not a fan of light things, because it typically means that it was cheaply made.
So, initially everything seemed ok. The speeds were great! Then my Netflix started to freeze and I wasn't able to get internet right outside of my apartment! (I have a small one bedroom apartment on ground level).
If you want a decent router, go with the Netgear C7800, it does a lot better than this one will and the coverage is better

Don't buy an Arris modem! It's not compatible with Comcast so they have to reconfigure things on their end to make it work. Shame on Best Buy for not telling their customers this...especially me whose a senior citizen!! Never again Best Buy, never again!!

Poor WiFi at too high a price

I bought this because I had a lightning strike that fried my modem. It was the only modem/router combo that I could pick up the next day and that Comcast allowed. I was hoping that I would actually get better WiFi due to the price. I was wrong. The modem is downstairs. WiFi keeps dropping upstairs. I did not have this issue with my previous $70 modem.

Only a bare bones router

Don't get this: 1) if you need tech support, they suck and will drop you if you don't respond in 30 seconds. 2) if you need port forwarding/triggering or have a non-standard subnet mask. None of the advanced features work.
I'm sticking with Netgear.

Worst Modem EVER!

Will NEVER buy an Arris again. Bought this 15 months ago from Best Buy and after many times of lost connections it just stopped working. My Internet and maintenance guys checked it, spent 3 hours on the phone troubleshooting only to have Arris say it would cost $50 to replace with the warranty and it would take 10 days. NEVER AGAIN!!!! Just went back to Netgear.

Brand response from ARRIS SURFboard Team

Hello - we are sorry you did not have a great experience. Our goal is to always provide the best care to our customers. However, it appears that there may be some confusion regarding our support policy. You should have been given two options to receive your warranty replacement. Option 1 is for you to send us the malfunctioning unit. Once we receive it, we will ship a new one using ground service which can take up to 7 business days to receive plus the time it takes to ship the unit back. With option 2 we send a replacement without having to receive your malfunctioning unit first but you are required to pay for the shipping fee for the outbound unit. Both options include a pre-paid label to return your malfunctioning unit.
We offer 3 shipping options; - $20 for Advanced Ground, which can take up to 7 business days for delivery - $25 for Rush service, which can take up to 5 business days for delivery - $50 for Expedited service which will be delivered 1 business day by 5 PM, local time if processed before 12 pm Pacific Time.
We understand that time is critical when your internet is not working but wanted to clarify that $50 is not the only option when returning your device. We are proud to offer an industry-leading 2 year warranty on the device and hope to have you as a customer again in the future.

DO NOT BUY TO WORK WITH XFINITY

Worst experience -- worked for a while and then every morning or so I lose internet connectivity. I went round with arris about it and with Xfinity about the power level. This is a widely known issue (see many posts on Xfinity and Arris). I sent mine back to Arris under the warranty and they replaced it. Same issues emerging.
DO NOT BUY and DO NOT TRUST BEST BUY WHEN THEY SAY IT IS COMPATIBLE!!

Worked fairly well for as long as it took for me not to be able to return it. Tired of messing with this super slow wi-fi. Disconnected it and replaced it with my old tp-link router. No wonder it's discounted, it should be discounted more.
