I’ve had no problems since I installed it. It was an ordeal to get the cable company to activate it but everything has been great ever since. Plus I save the $12 monthly rental fee.

It just works

Simply plug in, power, coaxial to Xfinity and router then register modem with Xfinity via their app. Within moments WiFi is on. I can say my speed improved but the modem is compliant with Xfinity so I should be good for a long while.

That said, I am not getting the 200 Mbps upload speed I'm "supposed to" get from CC, but I imagine that is on their end and not due to the product itself.

Upgrade for better cable internet performance

This S33 model was a direct replacement. I really like this model more given the support for 2.5 gigs off the internal Ethernet port. My firewall can handle up to a 10g connection so this worked perfectly.

Good when on sale

Although its not necessarily an issue, the modem itself is plastic and somewhat warm to the touch. A lack of a cooling fan means that you want to keep this away from warmer areas of your house (closets, attics, etc)

Make sure to use the right LAN port and youll get true 2Gbs speeds on the download. On the flip side, If you’re expecting 2Gbs speed over wifi you’ll be let down. But this is no fault of the modem… its because of wifi / router limitations.

Good modem overall

Xfinity was offering unlimited internet if you rent their modem. Unfortunately the unit they(xfinity) supply has built in wifi which I do not need(mesh wifi system already installed). This modem works as advertised I am getting the full benefit of everything i am paying for through xfinity with it.
