I was annoyed that my previous surfboard 8200 died after 2 years of life, but after upgrading to this one, I’m glad it died. This one is a significant upgrade and is able to handle all the demand from 15+ devices.

I purchased this modem to replace the Xfinity modem that I was renting. I already had a high performance router. This Arris modem increased my downstream speed by an additional 100Mbps! I got a full 1Gbps down. Happy Happy!

Work well with the wifi router I have. I had one previously but I had an electrical storm and it fried the modem.

Huge upgrade to our home network. Works flawlessly with our Eero mesh network and connected to Xfinity with just a few steps and about 10 minutes. From the box to up and running in around 10 mins is a winner in my opinion. Great product.

It had been a long time since I had a modem and router setup that was not an all0in-one. This product was recommended since I made the jump to Gigablast. I could not be happier with it. I highly recommend!

When you need a simple modem only, not combo modem/router, this is it. I connect wirelessly through a mesh system and did not want a useless access point to secure. Not everyone can use the high-speed port but take advantage if you can.

The modem, while appearing to be working correctly, operated at a very high temperature. How "high?" Hot enough that touching any part of the device was extremely uncomfortable. Electronic devices should not run "hot." Fortunately, Best Buy has a "satisfaction guarantee" that allowed me to exchange the modem for a similar product from Netgear. Also, during product registration, the Arris website would not recognize the device and serial number. I usually do not register a product, but Arris' documentation hinted that it was important for warranty fulfillment. With the device running as hot as this one, I felt confident that I would be contacting them "soon" for warranty repairs. I did post a comment on the Arris user forum, agreeing with others about the device's temperature and website problems (I am not the first to have these problems with this product). An Arris monitor posted "please contact us..." Too late; I already exchanged the device.

For some reason RCN explicitly calls out Motorola modems as unsupported, and based on my research this is the next best option. Been super happy with it, and I don't see why the Motorola equivalent is worth $50 more.

Very strong performer but due to it's size tends to emit a good amount of heat. Keep well ventilated. Single LED reduces footprint but makes it harder to troubleshoot. Overall great performance but not necessarily a step about what else is available for a less money.

Easy to setup. Call your ISP and give them the mac address and you are off to the races. The 2.5 gbps fully opens the throttle on high speed. The lights are easy to read but not obnoxious.

Super easy set up- just plugged it right in in place of my older modem, let it power up, then followed the instructions on the Xfinity site to activate it to my account. DONE! Works great and haven’t had any issues.

Just replace my Xfinity modem. I am consistently getting about 239 in speed now. Eero Router hooked up with this. It works great. Plus I’m saving $15 a month for not having to rent the Xfinity box router. Do not say anything better about this modem it’s been great.

Upgraded my Spectrum service to their 1gb plan. Highly recommended using your own modem and router as what most ISP provide is cheap and crap. This product works great!
