The base unit is in the basement and the two satellites are on the second floor in two bedrooms. I paired this with a ARRIS - SURFboard S33 32 x 8 DOCSIS 3.1 Multi-Gig Cable Modem with 2.5 Gbps Ethernet Port - White which I purchased as the same time as the this WiFi router.
