Purchased April 2023 and on November 29/th 2024 it stopped working. It did seem to be a bit warm to the touch. Even when I put feet on the bottom to have a gap between it and the desk to improve air flow.

I had been using a router modem combo, but they have failed 3 times. This was my number 1 pick for a standalone component.

I think they are hit or miss. The first one failed in two weeks, Best Buy replaced it. Crossing my fingers that this one does not fail as well.

Comcast in MA was not able to get this to work, called Comcast support and Arris support about 2 hour trying to receive signal from their end, unfortunately, none of them able to get it working. Maybe it is because it is too new for Comcast to setup a standard procedure to have it connected yet.

It seemed to work okay for the first 2 days, but then something happened and it just stopped working with our internet provider. We bought a different brand and our internet magically came back on. Definitely check with your internet provider before purchasing this brand.

Works great when it connects.... has difficulty communicating with a gigabit switch/router sometimes... even if it has a "solid connection light" ...... I might switch it out with another good thing I got protection plan.

Had a Netgear CM1200 and decided to upgrade. Charter Spectrum activated the modem and I was online. Problem is though, it would constantly drop on/off online. Charter could see it on their end. Since my previous modem was working fine, I knew it was defective. I also wanted to note you cannot view the modem page if using a router. It will be blocked. I returned the modem and picked up the Netgear CM2000 and everything is working perfectly fine now. I can also access the modem page with no problem while still using a router. I did like the small form factor of the Arris S33 modem. That was about it though.

2 weeks after the return period ended this thing starts losing connection every night. The ISP blames the modem and now I’m out $300. Great.

Overpriced garbage. I bought this for my new home to support our high speed internet needs for working at home, as well as multiple users. Here I am now with a failing modem at not far past my return window, so I get to eat this pricey purchase. I had an Arris previously that I thought served is well, but will stay away from low on.

Arris SURFboard S33 not working with Cox

Purchased to replace an older cable modem, but was umnable to install with Cox Cable service. Cox tech support tired to help, but would not connect. Cox finally offered a service call, but it would cost $75 if Cox tech discovered an issue not related to Cox. Didnt want to roll the dice so kept old modem and returned this one.
