Not very good
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had an Aris 3.0 modem that after four month became slow, putting out only 42.4 MBPS. I purchased an Aris 3.1 S33. After activation with Comcast it would not connect to my router. It took several ours and three phone calls to Xfinity to get it to work, but it is now worse than my previous modem. Very slow, taking too long to open applications.

Stopped Working Under a Year
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this on January 1, 2024. It stopped providing stable service about a month ago. I've worked with my ISP but nothing helps and now it won't work at all.

NOT COMPATIBLE WITH OPTIMUM
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Online rep recommended this model. Rep in store also recommended. Called optimum for them to activate, and they couldn’t because it’s not compatible. Best Buy really needs to train their employees. Not the first time we were misinformed by employees who come across so sure of themselves and their recommendations.

DONT BUY THIS MODEM
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If I could give zero stars I would. This is an absolute waste of money, time, and energy trying to get this to work. After hours on the phone with xfinity and arris (they just blame each other for why it doesn’t work) they just told me to return the item to the store. The modem would never activate with xfinity. I even exchanged the modem for another one, but same issue. Forced to use my old modem for now. Not happy with the product or the customer support provided by arris. Avoid this modem at all costs.

QUALITY -10
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Quality is horrible, replace twice, first time out of the box, and, second time, loose screws or something inside..

Drops internet access
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wasted $213.93. After much troubleshooting, determined the Arris S33 was dropping internet access, even though the status page said everything was "OK," It's in the bin after only 6 months.

Died after a week
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had 3-4 arris modems in the past and they each lasted at least 3-4 years. Purchased the S33 and unfortunately it died after a week of use. Pretty disappointed. Modem does heat up more than any other previous model i owned.

not a good choice
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.have had nothing but trouble with this modem. The help line is outsourced and after an hour on the phone, everything was so messed up. If I wasn't past the 15 day return limit,, it would be going back

ABSOLUTE TRASH DO NOT BUY
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product did not work for us. Terrible set up system. Also Best Buy did not accept our return and we've had a months long process to try to get a refund on this defective item. Arris support was no help - awful product and service all around. You're better off with the Google Wifi system.

excellent purchase - super easy install
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an excellent modem, it connects super fast, supports xfinity, was a breeze to set up and connect. I basically have zero zero cons for this purchase. There are only 2 reasons why i did not give it a 5 star review: A. DO NOT install the Arris surfboard app - it's completely uselss and give zero added value or abilities for 99.9% of users. B. There is only 2 indicator light and it only has 2 colors - green for fully connected or blue for "trying to connect". Most modems have at least 4 (power, downstream, upstream, and internet), if you will ever suffer a connection loss having this lack of actual status representation is going to make your and your ISP's troubleshooting efforts somewhat difficult and I feel this important feature was shortsightedly and needlessly sacrificed for aesthetics. A modem should be functional, and not ugly. but it certainly does NOT have to be pretty. (I give them that, this modem is indeed a nice looking appliance).

It’s ok
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It unfortunately did not sync with my mesh that I wanted to connect to it after 2 1/2 hours so I ended up returning it. It must’ve worked for others very frustrating for me after unplugging and replugging and calling customer service and looking online for answers just was not any help!!
