    Bad Modem

Bought the Arris S33 back on January 7, 2021. It worked great for 5 1/2 months and then it stopped working. My ISP could not connect to it and the device was overheating. I had to hook up my old DOCSIS 3.0 router for now until I can replace it.

Works fine up to 500 Mbs. Was not able to deliver speeds over 500 Mbs. Neither Breezeline or Arris support were able to solve the issue.

    Unreliable Connection and Updates

I had internet trouble on and off for months. For hours, the internet would disconnect and reconnect, giving me fifteen seconds of connectivity followed by five minutes of no internet. After a stream of technicians replaced and repaired and checked every other part of my network, and my neighbors confirmed they had internet, I finally thought to replace my modem. My internet has been stable for over a month now. I'm not sure if this is bad hardware, or bad updates being pushed, but either way, this modem is very close to garbage.

Died, no power after 30 days - hour to get a person on the phone from Mfr - call “dropped” right when they were about to send me replacement - got voicemail while still in hold with them to try calling in again. No thanks, clear they could care less. Stay away

I really don't know if it is any good. I replaced my modem and router. Also had Cox technicians check system inside and out. They even ran new cable to the house. Had a tech from arris troubleshoot but still couldn't get internet to stay connected. I called T-mobile and they sent me a modem/router. I plugged it in and consistant internet connection with no problems so far.

This is a really nice modem all though I had to return it because it was not a modem/Router combo that I was wanting.

    Low Speed Modem

To many connection issues. I was running an older Netgear and never experienced that much of lag and interruption. I have to reboot the Modem 2 to 3 times to finish 1 single movie. Very disappointed with Arris

Didn’t even last a year. Started making a terrible noise and then would no longer connect to the internet. Very disappointed in this model. Definitely not the level of quality I expected from a supposedly top-of-the-line Arris modem.

I had an Aris 3.0 modem that after four month became slow, putting out only 42.4 MBPS. I purchased an Aris 3.1 S33. After activation with Comcast it would not connect to my router. It took several ours and three phone calls to Xfinity to get it to work, but it is now worse than my previous modem. Very slow, taking too long to open applications.

Modem lasted a little over a year and literally just died today for no reason after making odd noises for a couple weeks. Had to hook up my old cable modem to get back online today.

No change compared to old modem provided by cable company. So far internet has been even slower. No improvement as hoped.

    NOT COMPATIBLE WITH OPTIMUM

Online rep recommended this model. Rep in store also recommended. Called optimum for them to activate, and they couldn’t because it’s not compatible. Best Buy really needs to train their employees. Not the first time we were misinformed by employees who come across so sure of themselves and their recommendations.

    DONT BUY THIS MODEM

If I could give zero stars I would. This is an absolute waste of money, time, and energy trying to get this to work. After hours on the phone with xfinity and arris (they just blame each other for why it doesn’t work) they just told me to return the item to the store. The modem would never activate with xfinity. I even exchanged the modem for another one, but same issue. Forced to use my old modem for now. Not happy with the product or the customer support provided by arris. Avoid this modem at all costs.

Quality is horrible, replace twice, first time out of the box, and, second time, loose screws or something inside..
