I upgraded from an older Arris Surfboard modem, and this newer 32x8 Doc Sys 3.1 noticeably improved my online experience . Browser was faster, and response time on Spectrum Web Mail improved, not by much but improved. Down and Up Internet speeds regularly test faster by approximately 17%. I also upgraded my router, and the Arris SB8200 helped my router's efficiency and performance.
I recommend upgrading to 32x8, Doc Sys 3.1, if you have an older cable modem, and I recommend the Arris SB8200. It is reliable and stable.

Upgraded from 500 to 800 MBPS internet speed. Old modem was capped at 450 MBPS. This did the trick !! Now consistent at 750-900 MBPS all the time. So far 30 days and still great. Works perfect with Xfinity internet .

We had to replace an older modem, and this one is compatible with our system. It was in stock and we were in a hurry to replace the old one. So far it has worked out fine.

High quality product with easy setup, clearly written setup steps, and online support should it be needed. Also supported by the local Cox Cable Company on their Internet Networks. This also saves money for you over all the years this product will be utilized Vs paying $10.00 monthly for the same product from the local cable company.

Set up was pretty simple and it gets the job done. I set it up in an off-campus apartment for my daughter. Saves renting on a cable modem from Xfinity. Solid product.

I was renting a modem/router from Xfinity for years and watched the price go up and up and up. This unit paid for itself in rental fees within a year and I have not seen any slowdown in speed or performance. Very easy to set up, Plug in and one call to Comcast/Xfinity and I was set.

After being notified by my ISP that my Docsi 3.0 unit was no longer up to speed, I purchased the Arris surfboard 3.1 unit, which was recommended by the ISP. The authentication process stumbled at the ISP, but with a little help over the telephone, I was up and running in about 40 minutes. It seems to give better speeds, and doesn't need to be rebooted as often as the older modem. When I am streaming entertainment, and the speed is verified, the download data rate is noticeably higher, and the incidence of buffering is significantly lower.

I read reviews that said it ran hot but mine is running cool. Cooler than the less expensive and slower Surfboard this replaced. Right now I'm only at 200 mbps but I the extra channels may have fixed internet connection bogging down during peak times. Whatever, it works, and don't mind the extra expense, as my last modems tend to last a long time. I also have a rental unit and need reliable wifi connection. I also purchased a small usb fan to help keep it cool but really don't think its necessary.

I returned the ARRIS Surfboard SB8200 because it was more advanced than what I needed for the internet speed I currently have with my cable provider. The modem itself is high quality and clearly built for much faster plans, but I couldn’t fully take advantage of its capabilities, so I chose a model.

Easy to install. Speed testing the the before (230 to 275 Mbps) and after installing the SB8200 (540 to 575 Mbps). It almost double the speed. My secondary TV is connected to the internet via WiFi. Speed on that TV was 125 to 155 before and now is averaging over 250. I'm paying for 250 Mbps cable service.

We have gigabit connectivity through Mediacom (Yuck I know, but we don't have a choice), and the connection is great. We consistently see greater than 800 Mbps and the Internet hasn't dropped at all in the last month.
It also has a web enabled panel for checking it's health which is beneficial when your ISP is well, bad.
Other than that it's modem, contrary to what your ISP may say (*Cough* Mediacom *Cough*) you don't need a degree in Computer Science to install one of these, it has the installation complexity of plugging in a toaster.

Arris Surf, I had recently purchased it from Best Buy in order to upgrade to a faster speed modem. Installing this awesome modem is/was so easy a child can do it with not 1 but both hands tied in the front (tied in the back won’t be able to do it.) Installation, up and running was completed in 15 minutes. I would 100% recommend this to anyone looking for a faster upgrade. (Check with your ISP for compatibility before purchasing any modem or router.)

More expensive than it should be in my opinion, but even then it pays for itself in less than a year since Xfinity wants $180 a year for the privilege or renting one of their modems. Even if it only lasts 5 years you will have saved almost $800. And it may last longer.
The modern is OK. Not the best and definitely should have 2.5 Gig Ethernet ports for the price, but if your internet is less than Gigabit speeds you will never notice. It’s a proven design having been around for many years, and this version is DOCSIS 3.1 compatible (again, perfect for most users unless you require gigabit internet or higher).

I had been suing an earlier version of this SB6190 for few months which worked wonderfully, so I decided to repurchase ARRIS modem. It is working perfectly fine and shows different lights (yellow vs blue) depending on internet speed you have.

This is currently (early 2021) the best modem that you can get especially considering speed and quality. If anyone is worried about the brand all I can say is don’t worry too much. It should last a long time. I’ve had prior models last 10 years. You should get minimum 5-7 years out of this. It doesn’t have any fiber capabilities but it is future proof in the speed department. It’s a bit pricey still. Hopefully it comes down to a more reasonable amount.

Bought this to stop paying the bogus Optimum/Altice (Whatever you want to call it) rental fee and to eventually upgrade the speed to 1Gig download without the need for their modem/router in one (NAT Hell). Swapped out the Optimum provided modem with this and within 5 minutes I was up and running through their self install registration webpage. Optimum doesn't show this on their supported modems list but in Edison, NJ this modem is working with their service (Might vary by location).
