Works great with Xfinity Internet
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was renting a modem/router from Xfinity for years and watched the price go up and up and up. This unit paid for itself in rental fees within a year and I have not seen any slowdown in speed or performance. Very easy to set up, Plug in and one call to Comcast/Xfinity and I was set.

Fast, efficient - for what it does it's great
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Switching back to Comcast/Xfinity, and decided I wanted my own modem rather than renting. I ordered Xfinity's "super fast" - on sale for $50 a month - "up to" 600Mbps down, 20Mbps up. It does better than that - I'm regularly getting 700. We had Comcast a long time ago, and the cable was still there sticking out of the wall. So once I'd ordered service on the Xfinity website, I just plugged it in, and pretty soon it was up. Yes, the blue LED status light for DOCSIS 3.1 is very bright, the regular green LEDs are not a problem. I get the downlink blue, up is green. I ended up with a lot of problems getting the Xfinity account to work - three long sessions on the phone and "chat". At one point they put a "block" on the modem and nothing worked. Their mistake. Finally it's all working. Yay! I'm using an old Plume mesh system for the router and WiFi, and a switch for the wired things - and it works well. (Plume is grandfathered in, not subscribed.) In case it's not obvious, this is a modem, not a router. You'll need a router, and I had one. My experience is that things like this eventually have a 1%-5% failure rate, so I got the Geek protection for it. It's only been running a week or two so far. Because we're in an area where the utility can shut off power (or drunk drivers can hit power poles) - wild fires are a real threat in this part of California - I have the modem (and router, and NAS) on a UPS.

Improved download speeds
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Upgraded from 500 to 800 MBPS internet speed. Old modem was capped at 450 MBPS. This did the trick !! Now consistent at 750-900 MBPS all the time. So far 30 days and still great. Works perfect with Xfinity internet .

Beats comcast modem hands down
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Provides me with the internet speed that I am paying for where as the modem router combo from comcast barely allowed me 50% of the 400mb/s internet package I pay for. One item of moderate concern is that it does run a little on the toasty side. I had been keeping it in a cabinet in my office and noticed how hot it would get. I placed it out in open air ontop of the same cabinet and it seems to be at a much more acceptable temperature. I have had no service interruption even with it getting hot.

Great modem, works with Buckeye Cable
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this modem to use with Buckeye Cable to avoid the monthly rental fee. Buckeye will tell you that only certain modems will work with their system and claim they "don't have a list of all approved modems," but I can tell you that this one worked. It will likely require the technician to call during installation to update things on their end. It's been a good modem and has worked well for me.

Still rock solid two years later
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This modem is a rock solid choice for business or home use. I've had exactly zero issues I consistently have speeds that are 20-30% faster than my neighbors who are fed from the same piece of coax. If Arris would have included a MoCA bridge in the unit, it would have been perfect (and have saved me 60), but it's not worth knocking anything off because of it. This modem specialized in getting high speed DOCSIS bits onto your network and it does it very well.

Reliable
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had been suing an earlier version of this SB6190 for few months which worked wonderfully, so I decided to repurchase ARRIS modem. It is working perfectly fine and shows different lights (yellow vs blue) depending on internet speed you have.

East to setup, and reliable service
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I waited a few months to write this review so I could be sure that this modem was reliable. It is. I have been using it for the past 6 months and we have not had any issues with it. The setup was straightforward, and when we have lost the connection with our service provider ( or a power outage), this modem has restarted on its own. And it actually boots up much faster than modems I've had over the past several years.

Excellent as advertised
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Set up was pretty simple and it gets the job done. I set it up in an off-campus apartment for my daughter. Saves renting on a cable modem from Xfinity. Solid product.
