This is my fifth Surfboard modem in two decades, and all have served me without fail (unlike the RCA, US Robotics, and Scientific Atlanta models I also had during that time). I had a protracted move this year, and needed to keep my subscription with the MSO at my old house for my wife to work from home. While there was nothing wrong with the SB6180 I had been using, I could not take it with me to the new house, so needed something at the new place-that would also give me room to grow. I only have a 150/5 plan from COX right now, but this modem will allow me to switch plans all the way up to their "Gigablast" service if necessary. It takes a little longer to boot and sync than previous models I've had (2-3 minutes vs the 40-60 seconds of the SB6180), but that's hardly a major issue. I have the modem and router on a UPS, so the occasional power blip doesn't cause any downtime issues. This thing will run a very long time on a 500VA UPS. These modems aren't cheap at around $170-180, but it's also the first one I've bought new (the SB6180 was only $36, but this was due to being pre-owned and on the market for quite a while). Since I expect to get 5+ years of service out of it, it will pay for itself in about 16 months when considering the monthly fee to lease one from my ISP-leaving me with 3.5 or more "free" years. Buy one of these with confidence.

I've been using Surfboards since they were originally manufactured by Motorola. I've found them reliable and solid performers. I've only upgraded to a new one b/c I needed DOCSIS 3.1 to make use of higher tier Cox speeds. New cables, new modem? Now my connection rocks and doesn't slow down when I'm working-from-home and the S.O. is streaming and playing MMORPGs!

It was the highest rated modem that runs docsis 3.1 which is required for gigabit internet and fairly rare. Also priced accordingly. No frills but good modem.

Bought this about two weeks ago. Easy Setup with my new router and upgraded service to gigabit. I have been monitoring traffic and do get the desired download speeds with Xfinity which supports this modem. Overall worth the upgrade my only gripe is that Best buy states it comes with an ethernet cable in their product description but the box contents as well as the details on the product box itself do not mention any includes. Removing a star in hopes Best Buy fixes this product advertisement issue.

I was looking for something to replace the SB 6121 because it was already 5 years old and started losing connections. When I got this one, I could notice a difference in how quickly my web pages loaded in even without changing the speed of my Interent. I already had success with the Arris line, so I decided to upgrade to this model. So far super fast and reliable.

Good product. Setup was easy, but I had to let everything sit for about 90 minutes before the modem started working with my WiFi Router device. Note to self: Just wait 90 minutes and be patient. It seems to run updates or something that didn't allow me to connect to the internet for about that timeframe. Works great since then, I work from home.

The ARRIS SURFboard SB8200 is a high-performance cable modem with DOCSIS 3.1 and 32x8 channel bonding, delivering reliable gigabit speeds for streaming, gaming, and more. Its sleek white design is compact and stylish, and it’s compatible with major providers, cutting rental costs. Setup is easy, but confirm your ISP supports DOCSIS 3.1.

As the title states, I finally have the right hardware for my Xfinity Internet Blast 200 service. First, I did NOT have to call Comcast as I did with my old SURFboard SB6190! I simply followed the online directions and I was up and running in approximately 10 minutes! Second, this SURFboard DOCSIS 3.1 Cable Modem works well with my Linksys AC5400 MU-MIMO wireless router. Third, I haven't had any dropped signals on any of my devices, nor have I had to reboot this modem since installation and activation. Lastly, I haven't any buffering during On Demand playbacks or YouTube on any of my wireless devices. With the new laws being put in place early next year (2018), I'm not sure how future proof this is, but for now, I'm getting what I paid for and NO frustrations. Again, this modem is a perfect match for my Xfinity Blast 200 and Linksys wireless router!

Finally stopped renting from the cable company and bought my own. Not only was it super easy to set up but, my internet speeds increase and we’ll as allowing me to customize my Modem Settings. Once providers start allowing higher speeds, this device will be ready to handle the higher download/upload speeds. Highly recommend this product!!

It is a fantastic modem. If your ISP support DOCSIS 3.1, you can't go wrong with this item. My Internet plan is 900 Mbps download, 20 Mbps download. Almost every day, doesn't matter what time it is, I was able to get up to 700 Mbps constantly. Please ensure to pair it with a decent latest and greatest Wi-Fi router.

I've used Arris modems for years and never had an issue. I had no issue with my SB6182, but recently got a free speed bump from Xfinity and it just couldn't do it. Enter the 8200. Consistently pulling speed 100 to 150 Mbps faster than advertised by Xfinity. no dropouts or slowdowns coming from the modem. Highly recommend.

I was able to get over 400 Mbps download and 11 Mbps upload. This device is small enough to be site on the rack with other devices. If you see the blue light, you are taking full advance of the DOCSIS 3.1. This device is only warm to the touch daily use at home. I also did some load tests and the temperature remain the same.

Bought this modem recommended by store employees. Was informed by friends to get my own and not use cable companies as there's are usually older ones and may not work as well. Not hard setting up. You just have to call the cable company to take off there's and register yours. You may follow instructions or go online. I've owned this product for a couple weeks now and it works fine.

I get better speeds with Spectrum Internet using this DOCSIS 3.1 modem but modem does tend to get really hot and does get a lot of errors. As far as the errors are concerned I can't pinpoint if its a modem issue or Spectrum line. I would recommend it but use in a OPEN AREA to dissipate some of the heat

As far as DOCSIS 3.1 modems go, it’s a good deal. The 3.0 varieties are still far cheaper though. When switching out the old for this I did see some improvement, but the router made a bigger difference in my case. The dual line out is a cool feature that I didn’t think I’d care about, until I used it. Now, I wonder why more modems don’t offer it.
