I’ve owned a 15 year old Arris modem and wanted to upgrade to the newer technology. It really has come a long way from 15 years ago. Speeds are phenomenal. Download speeds increased 20 fold, and the design is great! The upgrade was worth every penny!

I initially bought it because my ISP was charging me a device rental fee, but I am so glad i did. My speeds are way way up, and my connectivity issues are inexistant. I got lucky and got it on sale, but I'd gladly pay the full price knowing what i know now.

Great modem!! I love the dual lan ports, and I am glad it's future proof, docsis 3.1. very fast and my latency dropped immediately.

Plug it in, and it works. This is actually the second SB8200 I purchased, and both are working great. I think the people that have had problems with these modems and other 3.1 DOCSIS modems is that their gigabit connections were creating bottlenecks between their modems and routers. If you get this modem, and you have a gigabit connection, I recommend that you also upgrade your router to something that can better handle the throughput.

Cable companies charge you to use their modems - buy this & it pays for itself in about 18 months PLUS it's a much better modem than the cable company uses I had mine installed by a professional (because I was moving into a new house) but if your house is already wired, installation should be very easy - once it's hooked up you just have to contact the cable provider & tell them the s/n so they can enable communications with their servers

I replaced my Netgear combination cable modem and WiFi with the SurfBoard cable modem and mesh wifi. I liked the SurfBoard because it is docsis 3.1 capable AND it has 32 download and 8 upload channels, plenty enough for the more than 30 devices we have connected to the internet. Note that your ISP must be docsis 3.1 compatible for the modem to connect via 3.1. Xfinity has docsis 3.1 for download channels but not upload in my area in northern Illinois. Otherwise if falls back to docsis 3.0.

Easy to install and no dropped signal. Easy connection to ISP and delivers ISPs top tier speeds.

This is a very solid modem. Easy installation with the assistance of Xfinity. I get about 986 download speeds consistently.

Great cable modem. Easy to set up. The unit runs warm. Make sure it has plenty of room for ventilation.

Works fine with Optimum internet service. I've experienced no issues with network connectivity in the 1+ month I've been using this device. I hit speeds of 360/30 Mbps, and the limit is set by my service plan, not this device.
