I needed this for Xfinity 1 gig service
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had to buy this to work with the Xfinity 1 gig service. A bit expensive. It seems to work ok, but I am not yet getting the download speed that Xfinity reported is being provided to the unit. I still need to play with it and the Orbis that it is connected to. I think that it is probably a networking issue rather than an Arris issue.

Solid, supported by carrier, no issues
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. No issues - bought to replace older Arris no longer supported by carrier. Wasn't actually having issues with old one, but eliminating potential factors (or excuses for carrier)

Works As Designed
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have had device for 3 months now and it is performing as designed. My only complaint is it only has one usable 1G Ethernet lan port. I realize this a router and not a switch, but it has 2 Ethernet ports which led me to believe it did have a second lan port. It also has no firewall/outside access control. You need to be sure to route your traffic through a firewall, either a standalone network device or on your endpoint. Other than that, so far so good.

Perfect Upgrade
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to set up, even for the technically challenged. We had a modem that was over 5 years old that was starting to slow down. Had no idea that a simple modem could make such a big difference

One of the best routers.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a very efficient and powerful wifi but it needs a router for it to work. It works with any good router.

Very nice modem
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Switched from a DSL modem to this Cable modem. Aside from the much faster download and upload speeds this modem has lived up to the reviews. Flawless recieving and transfer to the router. Arris is I imagine one of the best out there.

Works great
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to setup, reboots quickly when needed. I get the maximum download speed that I subscribe to, so I'm very happy with that. I like that it has two ethernet ports in the back. Great product, I highly recommend.

Better quality than Xfinity's modem
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have paid for Xfinity's modem/routers for years and I always seem to have issues with speed. I finally decided to purchase my own modem and stop paying monthly rental fees on a fancy looking paperweight. I have had this modem for almost a year and I have never had a single issue. My connection is always strong and my service never goes out unless there is a service issue in the area. I highly recommend this for anyone trying to cut the monthly cost of their cable bill.

Last less than 2 years and you’ll be replacing it
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These Arris modems work well until they don’t. This the second one I’ve owned and I’m averaging about a year and nine months before they start dropping the internet connection. Rebooting them gives you anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours before it drops again. This one has started the issue now, so I’ll be replacing it. I know these modems have a shelf life, but the Arris line has been the worst I’ve ever used. I’ll be going to another brand name with the replacement. No more Arris modems for me.

works well
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I upgraded to gig speed internet so I needed a new modem. Bought this because I hate netgear products. works well and have had zero issues using it with eero pro 6 setup.

wonderful. needed a faster router and this screams
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I didn't realize that it was the capabilities of my hardware that was reached. Kept trying to increase the bandwidth I was purchasing trying to get more effective wifi coverage. Was using the rental modem/router. Your IP will let you keep renting an inferior product if you let them. Didn't realize I wasn't being a savvy consumer just because of my ignorance. Saved a great deal of money by slowing the bandwidth purchased monthly and purchasing a new router and a meshed network. Everyone's wireless devices work well together and don't see any slowing even while using streaming devices and cellular devices on my WiFi network. Now, I'm actually concerned about who's on my network (live in close proximity to other houses) and can easily see what's connected. Haven't gone to this visibility to see why I have slowing though. Did have a situation where I was trouble shooting the router and my new meshed network when I had internet connection issues. Found out that it was an update by my IP that was not installing correctly. Required them to do a reset remotely.I went from a rented 8x2 channel modem to this 32x8 channel modem and couldn't be happier. Love it and feel stupid for renting a modem that I could swear I head the dial tone from occasionally. This one is awesome.

So far so good
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Like any piece of electronics it's hard to say if this will stand the test of time but so far so good. I am using this with a new mediacom service and the technician that did the install didn't have any problems getting it to work correctly. The only problem I have had with it is that anytime I make a router change, I have to reboot the modem.
