Had faster speeds and have no problems since set u
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm a gamer on ps4 and I always had to ask wifento get off wifi. Not anymore since I got this device. Got it right after my nighthawk rax80. Pre speeds of old modem and nighthawk were 225ish, after installing this with my nighthawk I reach 350s on an only 300mbps plan. Have had no issues other than the initial set up where I had to contact comcast for them to do some kind of activation. Will plan to upgrade to a faster plan eventually. Based on reviews I read this was a very reliable top choice product. Future proof and just incase I still bought geek squad

Fulfils it's purpose
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought to upgrade my 10 year old surfboard modem because Comcast recently upgraded all plans in my area and it couldn't get the full speed(maxed at about 130mpbs, when I get 300 now, up from 100 when I first got the old one). Worked perfectly after registering it with them, but not giving it 5 star because in general it's insultingly overpriced for what you're getting. This isn't unique to this modem, they basically all are, and this one is actually one of the cheaper ones. However, you don't need anything super fancy and when it comes down to it, this is basically a super cheap "Raspberry pi" type SoC in a cheap plastic case that should maybe have a retail price of $50, but this was $180. Kinda feels like a scam because they know you need one to get internet, or pay like $10/mo rental fee to your ISP. Still saves you money in the long run, and they know that so inflate the price accordingly.

Ludicrous speed!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As the title implies, a DOCSIS 3.1 modem was required to handle the speeds of Cox Gigablast. Had good luck with my previous ARRIS modem so I went with what works.

Sale price good but at normal maybe not worth it
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far so good but i do have 1 issue. I'm not sure if it's on the Comcast end or modem. What happens is that when all the light green it's running at older 3.0. When all the light are Blue then it's running at the newer 3.1 "speeds". To be honest I don't see a performance difference between them both. And I'm not sure why or how it's changes. (I have the 400-450 mbs download and 12 upload on average.). Other then that I haven't noticed too many issues. Might not be a great if you have full gig internet plan. But again I also don't know if it's modem or Comcast.

Hesitant
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s a great modem for 1 gig, but just not strong enough and it stays hot even just sitting out in the open.

Modem works great
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, this is a great modem, it seems to work well with no drops and connection. I like that it is 32x8 and DOCSIS 3.1. Dis modem is pretty much future proof for the next five years or so it works great. Does not get too hot in use. Modems are items that seem to age quickly especially with the new technology coming out but modems will last a long time, especially if you get one that is up-to-date with the latest features.

Modem needs fan to stay cool
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Compatible with Xfinity cable...good speeds through modem. Reviews said it gets very warm...I agree. Placed modem in cool room with a fan pushing air through the case. It's just a plain modem without any router functions. Design flaw by Arris / comscope... should have a fan installed from factory

Will handle all the bandwidth you can throw at it
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall very easy setup (pretty much plug and play). Ultimately went with this over the NetGear CM1000 because it was able to be price matched down to $150. The reason I bought a new modem was because I was maxing out at 150mbps over Ethernet (pay for speeds up to 650mbps) after upgrading my router to a NetGear Nighthawk. After trying to troubleshoot a few other things I ended up with my modem (Motorola Surfboard) being the last component. My first Speedtest after installing the new modem came in at 500mbps during prime time so that was definitely the issue. I’ve had no issues with the Arris since installing it. One thing that is a little deceiving (at least to me since I’m not super into computer networking) is that it has 2 ports in the back which I thought could be both be used (one for my router and other as a direct connection for my desktop into the modem) but this wasn’t working for me. After doing a little research, I found out since it’s just a modem only one port will work (giving 1 IP Address). The second port will only allow faster connection to the same connected device (from what I read). Had this been made a little more clear by the manufacturer on their website, I would have given 5/5 stars. Still not a bad item though.

Fast and stable operaion
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Upgrading to this modem fixed the slow speed and disconnect issues I was having with my SB1641 modem. Have had very few "reset" disconnects in the last month. The only issue I have is the web interface seems slow compared to the SB1641 when checking config and status logs. otherwise a noticeable improvement in general internet performance.

Wifi power in an itty bitty living space.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Surfboard is newer than my previous model and upgraded to get higher speeds. It took about 10 minutes from the time I was home to the time it was connected and working on my system. Set up was so easy. I would recommend this low-profile powerful modem. Cheers!

good but overpriced
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.ARRIS - SURFboard 32 x 8 DOCSIS 3.1 Cable Modem My previous cable modem died and I was forced to get a replacement. I decided to try to future proof my purchase going with a DOCSIS 3.1 modem even through that standard isn’t wide spread yet. This modem has 2 RJ45 input ports but unless you have 2 IP’s supplied by your internet provider you can’t use both input ports for faster speeds and bandwidth. The speeds I get max out the tier of service I’m presently on and with the ability of going to a higher tier in the future I should be set for a while. The modem does get hot, mine is in the basement so it should be too much of a concern. I might add a computer chassis fan for cooling since that is what probably caused my old modem to fail. I’m a firm believer in separate modem router setups. The modem/router combo units can supply better use of space but also less flexibility and less ability to upgrade in the future without replacing the whole unit. Overall I’m satisfied with the modem but it is over priced.

Fast surfing...installing need help.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this as my internet connection isn't as fast as it used to. I have Spectrum provider and I'm not getting what I paid for. So, I decided to buy top of the line name brand (Arris) modem. Installation is tricky and I have to call customer service from Arris to guide me. Now my internet is fast and this modem is compatible with any provider. Its compact in size and portable. It's a little pricey compared with other brand that might give the same speed. Durability I'm not sure yet how long will this last. There you have it, back to internet surfing speed.
