Won't start/boot after 12 months of use.

Constantly turns off

In order to prevent this from occurring, sleep or hibernate mode needs to be disabled in the Control Panel, Power Options then Advanced Settings. For detailed instructions, please visit Microsoft's Knowledge Base. Also, if running with the battery only, please do not run any power-hungry software or application. Running these applications will cause auto-shutdown when battery life is running low. Always keep the WINDOWS Update current in order to keep power management services up to date, also. Whirring noise

I do understand the inconvenience and your concern about the hardrive noise being louder than normal. This will usually occur when the laptop is under heavy load when WINDOWS Update and antivirus scan, or malware are running in the background. To resolve the issue, try doing a full system scan using an internet security, or an antivirus software to get rid of malware, just in case the system was compromised. If WINDOWS Update or antivirus is running in the background, do not run any applications. Since these applications utilize lots of system resources, the laptop will become unresponsive or slow whiles are running. Also, please make sure cumulative WINDOWS Updates are being installed periodically in order to maintain optimum speed and performance. I do understand your concern regarding the issue with the WIFI device. Please verify if the unit is within range to an established wireless router or access point and internet service is working properly. Also, please verify if the unit is running with the most current system update. You may also need to go in the Device Manager, Network adapters, click on the Wireless LAN then click on the Power Management tab, unchecked the boxes and click the "OK" button to save the changes. Please make sure WINDOWS Update is current in order to keep the wireless network services up to date and keep the system in optimum performance and stability. OK laptop for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Its an OK laptop for the price which is the reason I purchased this one so not sure what's inside except for the amount of memory and storage which is fine. A few cons: The speaker quality is not that great but not the main reason I got it. The fan seems a little noisy and seems to run all the time. At times it sounds like wind noise in a microphone. I'm not sure if that is the fan or if it is coming from the speakers. It took the good part of the day to get it updated the first time so its not a laptop that is built for speed but seems to work fine for surfing the internet and doing documents and spreadsheets. I do like that it is lightweight. I don't like a heavy laptop.
