All ASUS products undergo intensive quality control testing and inspections, the wobbly touchpad is a random problem. Normally, ASUS provides one year warranty coverage, if product was purchased brand-new, in order to fix or repair any hardware or, part that stop working prematurely under normal usage. The laptop is slow, and is honestly riddled with bugs. The screen has a horrible glare with sunlight, and the software that manages tablet mode is so bad I have had to manually restart it in order to use either the touch screen, keyboard, trackpad or all at once. In addition to that the laptop is just needlessly slow, I have had computers with half of the specs run significantly smoother with doing even simple tasks. Needless to say I will be replacing this with another computer as soon as financially possible and will NEVER buy another ASUS laptop.

Good on paper only

However when it arrived upon opening the screen the hinge was warped and the computer would not rest level and rocked. The store display did this too. The other thing was the touch pad, which made noise every time I touched it. Almost like it wasn’t properly installed. This was enough to return the unit. The Best Buy display was the same. Unfortunate the manufacturer doesn’t have better quality control.

Thank you for writing a comment for the product. I do understand your disappointment if the system will not bootup or it black screen the next day. Usually, you will do the following to resolve the issue. Try to do a power cycle a couple of times. Shut it down completely, wait for at least 10 seconds then power on. Please wait, if the system is applying updates in the System Registry, it will black screen temporarily. If it still black screen after a few minutes, at least 10 minutes, please repeat the power cycle process again. Please verify if the AC adapter was properly connected from the laptop to a working surge protector or AC outlet and the power button is being pressed all the way down to trigger a power on signal. Also, please try to disconnect the power cable and let the unit drain for 24 hours to clear the memory and reset the hardware to default settings. After doing this, please reconnect your AC adapter then power on the unit. If you need further assistance, please email me at [email protected] and I will be more than happy to help.

Fast laptop. . But some downsides
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I originally bought this laptop for casual gaming, web surfing etc. It looked great in the store and they so happened to have an open box of the same model. So a few hundred bucks off I was very happy. Get home and get it all set up and it is lightning fast. It looks beautiful and preforms well.. It does come with a bunch of junk games and apps though that I went through and uninstalled... But the worst thing is the dang fan in this computer. I'm use to a fan kicking on every so often.. But it never shuts off, sometimes it sounds like the laptop is about to explode the fan is so loud. Even when I'm not running any apps. I'm starting to guess that's why it was returned in the first place and more than likely I will be doing the same.

The only thing I don't like about this is the power button, it's kind of hard to press/turn on. Other than that, I think its a pretty good laptop, I also like the dual/touch screen.

I have dropped in countless time on concrete and tile floors. the screen is cracked horribly but it still works fine. It's 3 years old and has been a great computer never given me any problems. it can get a little hot though. the reason for my review today is that I no more than 10 mins ago dropped this thing from 5 ft in the air on to its corner on concrete and I was sure it was done but when I opened it up it booted like always. amazing.

I won't try opening it to install any upgrades as I have no idea what's under there, to stressful. I have identified all the drivers for this thing, every single one except maybe the USB charger is out-of-date. Even Windows had to be updated. If you search online you'll find a site with updated driver releases only for this brand of laptop, then you just need to compare to the support pages driver list to get the newest ones downloaded. Anyways so much better than any laptop I've had, thanks!
