Q: Does the Q405U have an M.2 slot or just normal sata?
A: ASUS's answer is NOT TRUE. The Q405UA has a 2280 m.2 socket, as well as an open SO-DIMM socket. There is 8GB of RAM on the motherboard and the computer can be upgraded to 16GB of RAM. I'm not even sure I believe their other answer about not having the SATA board. I've attached two images of the motherboard, it is the same board that's used in the TP410UA with a slightly different firmware. There is also a SATA 6 board that attaches to the motherboard of the BI5T5 model that has a part number of 90NB0FS0-R10010. It may exist on the BI5T7 model as well as the only difference is the SSD. ASUS's support really doesn't have any idea what's actually in their devices, and that's deeply disturbing.
Q: Please tell me it has a cd dvd drive, if not which laptops have one.
A: BarbAnn, like you, I'd been looking for a laptop that still has an optical drive (the CD/DVD player). The other day (May 2019) I took notes on 4 laptops that have it. Basically, not many do any more, but there are some. None of the 14" laptops seem to have it. But these 15.6" laptops do: Acer Aspire E 15, model # E5-576-392H (there are other Acer Aspire E 15s that do NOT have it, so make sure you see it in the specs). Retails $379. Acer Aspire E 15, model #E5-576G-5762. Core i5 processor, 8GB memory. Retails $500-$600 range. HP Notebook with AMD processor, 4GB of memory, retails $259 (the most affordable option I found with optical drive). (Did not write down model #). HP Notebook Touch Screen with Core i3 processor and 8GB of memory, retails around $600 (did not write down model #). One thing I learned is that people get around the lack of optical drives these days with an external DVD drive - something you buy separately and just plug in to the laptop when you need it. The best rated one I saw was called ASUS ZenDrive 07M, and it retails for around $30. When I realized that, I decided I'd rather have a smaller laptop, and will just buy the external DVD drive separately. Hope this helps a little!
A: The dimensions of the screen are 12" W x 7" H.
A: You don't need to remove the installed 128GB SSD (it is hard to get to, as it is under the motherboard). The installed drive is an M.2 drive, so there is an empty SATA slot where you can add another SSD or hard drive. I have done this, and you can go into the BIOS and select which drive you want to boot from.
Q: Is this laptop equipped with Bluetooth?
A: Yes it has Bluetooth . However I have only connected a wireless printer through the Bluetooth. So I really haven’t tried earphones and other devices.
Q: Does this 2 in 1 have a CD/DVD drive?
A: No it doesn't, sorry. On the right side; where the dvd drive would be; there is the power port, HDMI, USB 3.0, USB type C port and headphone jack.
A: Same thing. It should work.
