ASUS's answer is NOT TRUE. The Q405UA has a 2280 m.2 socket, as well as an open SO-DIMM socket. There is 8GB of RAM on the motherboard and the computer can be upgraded to 16GB of RAM. I'm not even sure I believe their other answer about not having the SATA board. I've attached two images of the motherboard, it is the same board that's used in the TP410UA with a slightly different firmware. There is also a SATA 6 board that attaches to the motherboard of the BI5T5 model that has a part number of 90NB0FS0-R10010. It may exist on the BI5T7 model as well as the only difference is the SSD. ASUS's support really doesn't have any idea what's actually in their devices, and that's deeply disturbing.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes but only m.2 SATA No PCIe / NvME.. Its under the motherboard along with 1 DIMM slot for RAM. It's pretty easy the ribbon cables for the keyboard assembly are very cheap, so disconnect / flip up the plastic ribbon cable slot w a sponge tool or long tweezers. Check the pics. Disassembly is medium. You can add the 2.5" HDD easily and just format the m.2 128GB and use it for a cache drive.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I wasn't brave enough to do a complete disassemble, but did install a second 2.5 ssd drive in the empty sata slot under the right hand rest.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Q405UA comes with a SATA slot or connector, no PCIE or M.2 slot available.
