First the keyboard is unusable silver letters with a very very dim backlight unusable except in total darkness or if you shine a light from the side at the right angle. Second problem is Chrome os. You'd think it would be as usable and open as an Android but it's not. Google seems to have a fair amount of belligerence and locking it down and making life inconvenient. If you're willing to let Google be like apple and say give us your money and love whatever we give you then you might be able to be happy with it. If you are expecting the freedom of Android or Linux you won't be happy

We do understand your disappointment with the keyboard color contrast and the inconvenience this may have caused. Regarding the backlit keyboard, it is recommended to turn it off or adjust the keyboard brightness level while working in a well illuminated room or area, by tapping the hotkeys, "Alt + dim(small brightness icon)", repeatedly. The Chromebook comes with Chrome OS that supports thousands of applications, both in Chrome and Android, and Linux as well. Applications needs to be downloaded from the Chrome Web Store or Google Play Store.
