Usually, the following can be performed if the Chromebook will not power on or boot up.
Please verify if the AC adapter is properly connected from the Chromebook to a known good, working surge protector or AC outlet. Try to connect it to another known good power source. If running it with battery only, please make sure the battery has an ample amount of charge. If this was tried to no avail, please try to disconnect the AC adapter and let the unit drain for 24 hours to clear the memory and reset the hardware to default settings. After doing this, please reconnect your AC adapter, do not power on the Chromebook until the battery was charged. It will not power on if the battery was completely drained even if the AC adapter or charger is connected, allow the battery to have a charge.

Keys are hard to see and the SSD is too fragile.

We certainly understand your disappointment and the inconvenience this may have caused.
All ASUS products undergo intensive quality control testing and inspections, and are built to last, the drive not working within a month of use is a random problem. We recommend that you send it for service so this can be resolved. ASUS provides one year warranty coverage, if product was purchased brand-new, in order to fix or repair any hardware or part that stop working prematurely under normal usage. Regarding the color contrast of the keys, it is recommended to turn it off or adjust the keyboard brightness level while working in a well illuminated room or area, by tapping the hotkeys, "Alt + dim(small brightness icon)", repeatedly.

Hard To See Keyboard Keys

To resolve the OS missing error issue, please try to do a Power wash using the hotkeys, "Shift + Ctrl + Alt + R". Reboot or power on the unit then hit the hotkeys to enter in to Power wash. If this is not possible, please try to bootup from a Chrome OS Recovery image using a memory card. For instructions on how to create the recovery media, please go to the Google Support website.

Disappointing

The keyboard is extremely hard to see the letters/numbers. Silver letters on silver keys. I tried with and without backlit...nothing helped. Otherwise, Chromebook was good.

Not up to par

Ordered it online instead of directly in the store because I could not get assistance in the store. I had seen an ASUS celeron Chromebook with an hdmi port, so I assumed this had one as well. It doesn't. Contacted ASUS tech support only to discover the only solution was to purchase a dock for over $200 for the laptop which was more than I spent on the computer. Not going to happen. Strongly recommend that if you need to use a second monitor with a Chromebook you look elsewhere--because this model is useless.
