Customers commend the 2-in-1 15.6" Touch-Screen Laptop for its excellent touch screen feature, fast performance, and reasonable price. They also appreciate the Windows 10 operating system, good battery life, and suitability for light gaming. However, some users have concerns about the display driver that frequently stops, the laptop being a fingerprint magnet, limited USB ports, and occasional internet connectivity issues.

Solid All-Around Laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had planned on getting this machine when I went to Best Buy the other day. Unfortunately, I chose a new HP instead and it turned out to be a mistake as it lagged right from the start. I then tried a Lenovo which immediately began dropping the wi-fi connection. Third time's a charm as I ended up with this excellent Asus laptop, which is the first of their laptops I have owned. It has a slick design, and is very fast using a 6th gen i5 processor. It does show smudges if that bothers you. I'm not a fan of touch screen laptops, but it functions well for those that like that feature. It's also a 2in1, but that is another feature I won't use. The AC wireless card is blazing fast on my TWC Maxx network. This is replacing a 3 year old Lenovo that is showing its age and I couldn't be happier with the choice. I wanted a laptop with a complete comfortable keyboard, one that handles multi-tasking, and features a fast internet connection. This Asus excels on all of those.

Pretty good
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a student going after a computer science degree, I searched many months for a good laptop that was also a tablet. A lot of people think they are gimmicks, but the tablet option is very helpful. When it came down to specs this was the best in my price range. The 6th gen i5 is a great processor for all applications including gaming, I can run Skyrim on medium to low res and it plays smooth. Happy with purchase.

Very Good Computer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had my Asus laptop now for six weeks now. I use it all day long, and am a bit picky about my technology. It is very fast, even with six plus programs running at the same time. I did not have the display driver problem with Windows 10 that others have written about. I love the feel of the keyboard. Battery life is excellent (maybe around 6 hours). The fan seldom turns on, and when it does, it is almost impossible to hear. The processor also makes no noise. This is the best laptop mousepad that I’ve had. It is programed so that it does not inadvertently activate every time you accidentally touch the mouse pad with your wrist. I’ve had very little need to turn off the mouse pad. Here are some minor issues: I use a second monitor all day long. Having the HDMI port on the right side of the machine is a constant annoyance. I’m right handed, so I hit the HDMI cable with my external mouse at least a few times every day. It was a big oversight by Asus to put this port on the right side of the machine. If you are left handed, you will like the port location. Also, having the on/off button right next to the volume button on the side of the machine is another annoyance. After about four weeks, I did accidently put the machine into sleep mode by touching this button. So in the settings, I changed the function of the power button so it only turn off the screen. So next time I will not accidently turn off the machine. Overall: this is a very good laptop. Could have been excellent with a few engineering changes.

Excellent product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the Q503 few days ago and I am very satisfied. I installed and used many graphic applications without any problems with drivers. It's a nice unit at good price. One thing I will do: swap the 1TB HD for a Samsung EVO SSD. I would also add memory. Asus told me that it's not possible with this laptop... I know there are a 4G on board and not removable, but there are another SO DIMM with 4G. Anyone knows if it's possible to replace the 4 G SO DIMM with a 8G for a total of 12G ?

Amazing Laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I spent some time deciding exactly on the laptop I wanted for myself. This one fits the bill *perfectly*. Hi-Def Screen, Flip-to-Tablet, Back lit Keys, Full Keyboard, etc. etc. Read the specs. The only thing I gave up was the desire for an Intel i7 processor; This one is an i5 processor. For those having display driver issues on intense website pages, google for the intel driver titled "Intel® Beta Graphics Driver for Windows® 7/8.1/10* [15.40]", or "win64_154012.exe", or "Version: Beta 15.40.12.4326". Be certain you download the 64-bit version of this driver, as the 32-bit version will not work. This beta driver cured my laptop of display driver issues entirely. I would not just recommend this laptop to a friend, I would EMPHATICALLY recommend it.

Love this Laptop!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is awesome, blending screen size, power, style and portability. Not to mention the battery just won't quit! It lasts longer than any laptop I've used so far. While the tablet mode isn't a must-have it has its moments where it comes in handy. I love the styling, understated but classy. And the power this laptop delivers is amazing for this price. Great for anyone but hardcore gamers

love it. not sharing with anyone. nope.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Decided to get myself an early birthday present. After much debating, comparing and reading reviews on several laptops and 2 in 1's, the best buy for me turned out to be this one. Bought it full price at 799 but went back within the return period to price match for sale price of 649. I've had this laptop for a little more than 2 weeks. I can honestly say I love it. The i5 6 gen processor is really fast, as expected, no lag when game playing, I haven't actually tested it to the limits yet though. 1 TB of memory is useful for installation of bigger sized programs. It came with Intel® Entertainment Software Starter Pack Bundle - Intel. It includes Corel Painter and Paintshop, Awesome bonus. Overall it's a great laptop, The touchscreen is awesome, the touch pad is just as responsive. Adjustable level lighted keys as well. The screen can have a bit of a glare but I'm sure that can be easily fixed with some kind of touch screen protector. It feels heavier than expected, but you get used to it. Definitely recommend carrying this sucker with a backpack rather than a messenger style bag though if you have back issues like me. I feel like the speakers can be a bit louder for better movie watching but I may be a bit spoiled, my last laptop had Beats speaker. Keep in mind it doesn't have a CDROM drive but nowadays everything is available for download or you can buy an external one for pretty cheap. It's easy to use for a beginner and I think it's good for the more experienced computer user. Battery life is good. My hubby is jealous and keeps trying to use it when I'm not looking. I was a loyal HP user for over 10 years but this is my first ASUS laptop and they have definitely won me over.

Great build quality but lots of issues.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My experience with the ASUS Q503 has, so far, not been a good one. But first I'll mention what I found appealing/good about the laptop: 1. The Build quality is exceptional. It's sturdy and sharp looking. By far one of the best looking 15.6" laptops on the market right now. The hinges on the screen feel solid without compromising the ease of switching between tablet and regular mode. The keyboard is nice. Although as I'm typing this I'm starting to hear squeaking on some of the keys which could get annoying. The backlit keyboard is a plus and the trackpad surpassed my expectations. Now for the problems: 1. I returned the first one I purchased within 6 hours of buying it. Once I had booted up the computer and started browsing, I was confronted with a screen shudder which led both me and the Geek squad member to think that it was a graphical issue #so far it has only happened to me on media intensive websites such as Facebook and YouTube#. I exchanged it for a new one which did the same exact thing. On top of that, I received multiple video driver crashes #saying that there was an issue but it recovered#. While it didn't make the laptop unusable, it did make browsing Facebook unenjoyable. I started to check out other websites to see if I would get the same problems. I opened up Twitch to watch various streams and was confronted with a freeze-to-black screen. Every time I pressed a key it would blur and then crash. I had to restart the computer to get the screen to turn back on. I tried updating the video card to see if that was the cause of the problem, but it didn't fix it. Needless to say I will be returning this one as well and looking at some of the other brands on the market. Which is really too bad because I think it's a great deal otherwise. Hopefully ASUS gets some of these kinks worked out #or maybe it's just my luck to end up with 2 bad units#.

ASUS is a good computer manufacturer!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a ASUS i7 motherboard in a computer I built 5+ years ago which is still going strong... Son has an ASUS i7 computer for a couple of years without any issues and he uses it hard... Just got this i5 2-in-1 today and I have to say it has exceeded my expectations! The auto conversion to tablet is very nice and I didn't have any issues setting it up. I plan on using this as a second home computer in the kitchen for recipes and such. 6th gen i5, 1080p resolution, wireless AC, 8GB mem expandable to 12GB make this a Great buy at $699 for the money. I will update this review if I have any issues.

Great laptop for the money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Better, faster, and bigger than my Surface Pro 1. This laptop is great in many ways and not so in others. Pros: FHD screen, fast performance (I use it for drawing and for 3-4 year old games like COD: world at war), nice brush aluminum on cover and around the keyboard, touch screen, it folds into tablet mode, 8 gb of RAM (expandable to 12 GB) for multitasking and moderate usage without stutter, backlit keyboard, it doesn't say nothing about the audio in the description but the speakers are really good (clearly you won't be feeling the bass like a speaker but is really decent enough, I listen to screamo, hardcore, and dubstep music), bright screen, 3 3.0 usb ports and 1 usb type c which I love, great battery performance up to (10 hours in battery saver), fast at waking from sleep (2-3 seconds to resume when you lift the screen), good track pad with multigesture which I use a lot, the Asus logo even lights up! Cons: For me the trackpad driver stops working and I can't use it at all and have to restart, even though is fast at boot up and opening files and prefer a SDD like my Surface pro which boots up and opens files in seconds, sometimes when use heavy programs it gets really hot to the touch but maybe that is because and have laying in my bed, the brused aluminum is a finger print magnet, it doesn't have a optical drive(CD/DVD drive), and I can't think of anything else for the moment. So all in all its great laptop with great performance, great screen, battery life, and a beautiful construction overall. If you have the money go for it you won't be dissappointed and students can get a $100 dollar discount when you use your student email address.

Great Laptop for College bound
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this at the beginning of the year and have had minimal problems. Something I ran into was the audio not working, and the settings app not opening; but I believe that these were issues with the then brand new windows 10 software and not issues with the laptop. I was able to resolve these issues by myself and since then I have not had any other problems. Great Laptop for the price, would recommend to the upcoming college student that wants a pc to be more than able to handle school work, movie streaming, and light to moderate gaming.

Love it, except power button.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this laptop more than my Gateway DX 4860 I bought from Best Buy before. This laptop has amazing graphics for video watching, the screen is amazing. The only drawback is the power button, sometimes turning off can be a difficult part maybe just mine. On the other hand, wireless handles really great and having the AC option is great for future proofing. When it comes to the Windows 10 experience, that is a oddball. When mine wakes up from sleep, my touchpad is disabled. If anyone knows why please reply. In the future, I would like to see a slimmer bezel.

Weighs 5.15 pounds, not 4.63
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The description of this laptop says that it weighs 4.63 pounds. It does not. I weighed it with an extremely accurate postal scale, and it weighed 5.15 pounds. That's over 11% more than the description claims! The description also says that it has 4 USB ports, but it has 3. I returned it. Other than the weight, it seemed like a nice laptop, but I was looking for a reasonably lightweight laptop, and this is definitely not it.

Great laptop!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this computer for Christmas and loved it, until I realized one day that the power button (which is on the side instead of protected on the inside) had been knocked into the computer and would no longer work. I am sending it off to get fixed and I hope it will not cost much! So definitely get a good protective case when carrying in your bookbag! That and the amount of smudges and marks that show up on it are my only complaints! I am a freshman in college and absolutely love my new computer!

Buyer Beware!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this machine because my last laptop was Asus and I loved it, but this machine has issues. The first mistake I made was not looking at machines online and reading reviews BEFORE going to the store to shop. That was MY error. Be aware that this unit does not have a DVD/CD drive which was not pointed out to me by the sales person when I purchased the machine. I could have lived with that and purchased an external DVD/CD drive if it had not been for the other issues. If you are reading these reviews, you will see that this model has a problem with the display driver. Three times the first day this driver failed and it tells you that is has recovered, but it hasn't. The only way to continue is to completely shut down and restart. You cannot simply restart because then it locks up and you have to execute a hard shut down. It did this several times a day for each of the 3 days that I kept the machine. Then on two occasions upon startup I got an error message that stated something about not being able to successfully connect to the Windows Community. These errors messages pop out from the right-hand side of the screen and back in so quickly that you don't have time to completely read exactly what it says. After all this, I decided to come here and see if it was possibly just the one I bought and if so, I would just exchange it for another one. But I found, after reading the reviews, that others were having problems with the display driver too. Not worth my exchanging for another of the same model. I returned it and bought an HP that I have had zero problems with and am quite pleased with the new purchase. Best Buy should seriously consider discontinuing the sale of this model until Asus addresses the issues with this machine. I would definitely NOT recommend this model to anyone.
