Customers are saying
Customers commend the 2-in-1 15.6" Touch-Screen Laptop for its excellent touch screen feature, fast performance, and reasonable price. They also appreciate the Windows 10 operating system, good battery life, and suitability for light gaming. However, some users have concerns about the display driver that frequently stops, the laptop being a fingerprint magnet, limited USB ports, and occasional internet connectivity issues.

Nice build but awful software issues immediately
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off I will say this computer is very well built. Good tactile keyboard, decent speakers, and a nice display. Unfortunately I can't go much further than that as within a week for two of the same models of this computer I had to return it. Upon opening the computer, often there would be a flashing white screen that you couldn't get out of. Also, about every hour or so, the graphics card would crash. I attempted to update the operating system (windows 10) and the graphics card drivers multiple times. Nothing worked. So I called Asus product support and it was about as helpful as asking my grandma. It was along the same lines as "turn it off and turn it on again." I then emailed then in hopes of an answer and they still have not responded. All they told me to do were things I had already tried to do and didn't listen to my concerns. The first laptop I took back to return, GeekSquad told me the unit was defective. The second had the exact same problems as the first. It's amazing to think this can happen to two stock units. Bottom line, a very good quality laptop is taken back by the shortcomings of the graphics card and operating system. I would not recommend unless they fix their software, but I personally will not be buying another ASUS computer

Buyer beware
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the Q503UA and within hours of taking it out of the box the screen would black out and come back. Within a couple of days the entire screen would go black and be gone 1-2 minutes. Then I started getting a "Display driver has stopped responding and has recovered" error. I called Best Buy and ASUS for help. I updated Windows 10, nothing. I updated the Graphics/Display driver and still had trouble. I exchanged the computer for the same model. And had the exact same problem!! I'm gun shy now. I'm without a computer but scared to put more time into trying a new one. My last computer was an ASUS and I was very happy with it. Has quality control diminished? I'm seriously considering a Mac at this point.

Horrible
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm so disappointed with Best Buy right now I feel physically ill. I bought this computer and from day ONE it had issues with the display driver. Look up "display driver error Windows 10" and you'll see I'm not alone. Apparently it's an issue with Intel graphics cards and windows 10 not being compatible. I was going to let the issue slide because it was only a minor inconvenience when multiple windows/videos were open. Then it started having issues getting through a single short youtube video. If I wanted a laptop that froze up during a short YT video I would've bought a $300 computer. Then there were the issue with starting up. The screen turned off? You have to close the screen and open it back up again for the screen to turn on. Maybe a few times. When it finally turns on, the background picture is there but no arrow cursor. Wait a min. Nope still nothing. Ok close the screen and open it up again, oh ok now it's working and can enter the password. Gotta love spending almost $1000 on a computer that doesn't turn on and freezes from day one. To be fair, this issue was dramatically improved after a windows update. I updated the intel driver because of the 'display driver issue'. It helped a little I think but still was an issue. Again, google it. It's a common enough issue with intel and win10. Overall my experience with this laptop has been horrible. I decided on the 14th day of owning this that I need to just buy another laptop instead of risking anything else going wrong. I did a factory reset to delete all my files/data off the computer. I was also hoping this might fix whatever issues were going on so I could keep it. When it was finished and popped up with a welcome screen, I followed the instructions to get windows booted back up again. Yeah, about that. It wouldn't go past the welcome screen. It kept going back to it over and over again and wouldn't load windows. Apparently this is another common problem called a boot loop. I was finally able to (somehow) get the taskbar at the bottom to show up. The windows button didn't work, but I was able to open a window to look through files by right clicking on the taskbar. Somehow I managed to open the recovery menu screen. FINALLY I thought. I can boot up in safe mode and get around the boot loop bug. NOPE. Now it just restarted over and over again without ever going to any screen. The safemode screen would flash on for a split second and then it would automatically restart again. After many hours of messing with different combinations of F8,F10, etc. I came across an article saying that if the computer is shutoff/turned on 3 times in a row, the recovery menu would pop up. After playing with that for a while, it finally worked. Ok so I knew safemode didn't work, so I opened command prompt and looked up if there's anything I can do to fix the boot loop in cmd prompt. With no luck, I boxed it up to take it back (15th and last day to return). One problem that is my fault, dog chewed on the power cord. Here's the icing on the cake. Best Buy associate and manager want to tell me they won't let me return it with a messed up charger. The return policy says they can deduct $$ for missing items which I was fine with. Take $30-40-50 off. They said nope. So now I have a $850+ paper weight. Oh if I can somehow buy the factory charger from ASUS then they'll let me return it. That's nice but I need a computer NOW, not in 2 weeks. I don't have $850+ to blow. I'm unemployed and bought this to start a business. So disappointed that I trusted Best Buy. First and last big (for me) purchase I'll ever make here. PS WHY DO YOU THINK IT'S $100 OFF?!

Nice Laptop!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use this for running karaoke and it works well for me. I can run my karaoke program and iTunes simultaneously, and surf the Internet. I had a conflict with my old software, but that's not the computer's fault. Backlit keyboard rocks!

Bad purchase.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this less than a year ago. And I have had nothing but issues with this laptop!! The hard drive crashed within 7 month of use. 3 months later the Graphics driver went bad. I own 4 HP machines. My first attempt to try something new was a dismal failure. My kid's laptops are working great!! Mine that I use for work and personal use has become a constant nightmare. Now I may go back to HP or I am toying with the idea of an Apple Computer. But I say to anyone considering an ASUS!! Buyer beware!! I have to say the only upside, the ASUS does have better technical support options than HP. HP has horrible tech support. The ASUS team has been very gracious and has fixed my machine without much incident. I gave a star of customer service. But the quality is truly at a 1 star for me.

Great as long as you don't want to connect
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picked up unit to replace Win 8.1 box destroyed in fire. Unit has hard-wire Ethernet connection, but it will not find network via this means. WiFi found network but can't exchange files with other members of either Workgroup or Homegroup. Windows claims these is something missing protocol stack. Followed on line direction to fix this and now it won't even pick up the network using WiFi. Its going back since correcting this is out of scope for the contract I have with GS.

Good laptop with some dealbreaking issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this laptop for around $700 after my high school graduation last year. about 6 months in, my hard drive went. Today, it spontaneously shut off multiple times. I really love it despite the issues, and ASUS fixed the hard drive within a couple weeks of shipping it (It hast to go to California, sorry east coast folks). It feels well built, the keyboard is great, and the screen is bright and the touchscreen is responsive, although it seems to get dirty easily. It has tons of hard drive space (when the hard drive functions properly, of course), and it runs many games off steam with no problems. Overall, a great computer. I do honestly think that my drive was a fluke, but if it goes again I'll reconsider. Fair warning, If this computer breaks down, you NEED to ship it to the professionals. It's screen is basically a Tablet, so your smart cousin in IT won't be able to fix it. This computer is great, but be warned if things go wrong, they will go really wrong.

Great Value for Personal or Business Use
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this laptop in January at a sale price. I really like the functionality of this laptop. It had better features than the Dell, HP or Lenovo. I like the resolution as well. Much better graphics than the others mentioned or on sale at the time. I like to customize the Windows because I hate Cortana and her voice. It is also lightweight and easy to transport.

nightmare service via app and phone
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.AFTER APPLYING FOR A CC AND making a purchase in December I've been sent to collections, not sent a card, been told my zipcode is incorrect got no Antivirus, my laptop keep having video display error spent many hours on the phone to rectify all of this, sent me a new cc I'm still waiting on, received a new laptop which won't pass the bios screen and called me again today saying my payment got rejected because they clearly left out a digit in my back account when they inputted it I hate best buy service I made a payment still with no properly functioning laptop at this moment I no longer want this particular laptop with my 2000 dollar credit line I planned on buying a ecobee thermostat nest cameras and a surround sound for my living room but my faith has been diminished with this company. No one seems to have the power to make this fix I just want a functioning unit or an alternate functioning laptop of similar spec. Sorry for the rant but my frustration is maxed out.

Computer Died Within First Week
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First time I've purchased a computer that died within days of purchase. Problems started from day one--lots of issues with Internet connectivity. On day six I opened the machine and there was no desktop, just a black screen. Disappointing, not to mention the waste of time.
