My wifi coverage has doubled with this router!! Excellent product!

I boughtthis upgrade my t moble ac1900. It's slower than my ac1900. It looks cool but that's about it.

I tried real hard to like this router. Constantly dropped connection to the internet. No matter how many times I reset the unit and updated the firmware, same thing. Only reason that I gave it two stars is because it has good range when it is working!

I have an Asus RT-AC86U as my primary router and wanted a device for an AI Mesh node. Never could figure out how to get it to work. Contact support and that was a useless exercise as the support people are basically untrained script readers and have no idea of what they are doing.

The Asus Blue Cave, a very fitting name as I wanted to crawl into a cave getting this router setup. Does it work, yes, and does very well, but the initial setup was painful with multiple calls to Asus, which their call center is obviously not in the USA. So, starting at the unboxing, the packaging is easy to get apart and everything you need is included. I unplugged my other brand setup and started the install, the long install. The issues were prevalent right away. The latest software was not installed as expected, but the software was so behind, I had to make 3 updates to activate the MIMO feature. I started off with the first update and it took about 10 minutes, restarted it and went on to the second update....BIG ISSUE! It semi bricked the unit. First call to ASUS. After an hour and them having me download a program to unbrick it, I have it working. But wait, now it's back to the original shipping software. So, I call Asus back, they told me how to update the unit so I would not have an issue. Well, I get to the 3rd update this time, fingers crossed. Guess what, Failure again!! This time I was able to hard reset it, and get it back to the 2nd update and tried again. Finally, installed the latest update. What really sucked was the auto updates always said it was up to date, so this was always manually pushed with the latest from Asus' website. Now, I am up and running, I start adding devices, wait, nothing has internet. What is going on here? Call Asus, they have me hard reset it again. Now, I setup the entire Cave again, and bam, we have it working. Now, to the good stuff, does it work, heck yeah it does. Range is outstanding, especially from moving from my mesh system I had. I have the same range and it does it all very quickly with multiple devices running. The child features are amazing, I have already caught my kids going to sites they should not be going to and blocked them. I can also see many stats of usage from their devices. There are a lot of techy features that work great, but the DNLA option is just not there like old ASUS routers. It works, but not nearly as good as the old way. This makes for my movie server to have issues with file servers on devices. I wont get into the many options and addons but for a normal household, it will do well, as long as you do not have the issues I have. I recommend it but cannot give it more than 3 stars personally because of the issues with the setup and the DNLA.

Look awesome in your living room but the wifi range is short.

The router looks great, which is nice if it is in a visible area. It also provides many useful features: - Easy setup (using an app or web browser) - Real time network activity statistics - Quality of Service setting to prioritize devices - AiProtection (a free lifetime service, this runs on the router and not on your individual connected devices) - 1 year of virus protection for 4 devices, provided by Trend Micro - Parental controls - Alexa and IFTTT integration (I don’t see myself using this, though) The web browser interface might be overwhelming for some people, but the app is a nice alternative with fewer settings. I was pleased to see that you can set the router as a VPN client, a feature missing in my previous other-brand router. Network speeds seem to be equivalent to the AC2600 router this replaced.

Don't buy this router. After 5-6 days it overheats, and shuts down the wifi signal then shortly after freezes up, then a physical reset it needed to get it back going. I have tried multiple times with support and all they say is to update the firmware and to do a factory reset. I cannot trust this router for reliable access more than a couple days at a time.

Not really a fan of this router. Purchase it to do a mesh with the rest of my Asus wireless routers. Didn’t show up was unable to create a mesh network. Plus it’s ugly

My current router is pushing almost 10 yrs of age, so numerous wifi bands have been added since I got it. It also looks like a router from the early 2000s, which isn't necessarily negative, but it's not eye-catching, let's put it that way. The ASUS AC2600 looks like it could be a part of Apple's new homekit line of hardware, with its clean design. The max speed I pay for was definitely not what I was getting at home except when I ran an ethernet wire directly from the modem. Now, I'm getting at least 10 mbps more than I was before. The parental controls on locking down usage will be useful really soon as my kid's starting to get more and more interested in playing online instead of playing with his toys.

Well, it looks like the age of "pretty" routers is upon us. I always liked the black box with antennas, but I could definitely get used to aesthetically pleasing wireless routers that are every bit at home as an accent piece as well as a more than capable internet device. This Blue Cave router looks very modern and takes the guesswork out of diagnosing blinking lights to see if everything is working. A pretty face is nice, but does it also put in the work? Yes, yes it does. I was a little nervous about the lack of external antennas when it came to wifi speed and range, but the hidden antennas work pretty well, and much better than a competitor that I have tried. My home is around 2000 sqft and there is not a place in my home that I don't get a good signal. I even have the router hooked up in one extreme corner of my house and I am currently writing this review while streaming Twitch while sitting outside on my deck on the opposite side of the house as the router without issue. My Nighthawk would struggle out here. This is a very pleasant surprise as I thought I would sacrifice coverage for looks. I do have to say that the wifi speeds on paper at distance seem to vary greatly. Using SpeedTest by Ookla, my speeds are all over the place. But in actual use (streaming multiple devices at great distance from the router, gaming, etc) I do not see a dip in performance. Other than the fact that this router lives up to every promise that it makes (Thank you ASUS!), my favorite feature is the ease of setup. Plug in, follow directions, use all the internets you wish! Literally that simple. The router even suggests setting for you if you aren't that familiar with setting up wireless technology. Worry free expedited product. I really don't have much negative to say about this router. The main complaint I have is the glowing lights inside the "cave". I wish they were more fluent as opposed to a few bulbs that just radiate from the inside. It subtly lights the inside, but doesn't flow as much as I would like. You can definitely tell where the interior bulbs are located. I also wish this would speed test a little higher, as it is about 30mbps slower than my Nighthawk, but until I feel that difference in performance, that gripe can stay on the back burner. Asus...thank you for a good product. Now don't settle. Keep the cool stuff coming!

Just received my ASUS Blue Cave AC2600 Wireless Router upon returning from my vacation. Inside the box comes the ASUS Blue Cave wireless router, power adapter, ethernet cable, and instruction manaul/warranty info. Connecting the router was pretty self-explanatory if you've ever connected or disconnected a router before. However, the instruction manual guides you step by step how to disconnect any pre-existing router and connect the Blue Cave. On the back of the router is the power button, power adapter port, 4 Ethernet ports, an Internet port, and WPS button. The factory default settings are listed on the bottom of the router itself like most routers out today. Now setting up your network you can go one of 2 ways: either on the WEB or via the 'ASUS Router' companion app like I did. The app is available in both the iPhone App Store or the Google Play Store for all those Android fans. Once I got my wireless network setup up I noticed great speed and coverage through out my apartment. It covered every inch of my apartment where other routers I've used struggled to cover. I was able to connect my Smart TV, Xbox One S, iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV to the network with no issues, and there was no lag. Along with the router comes 1-year free year of Trend Micro Titanium Antivrus+ protection for your mobile devices (laptops, tablets, or phones). It is limited to only 4 devices though. I must say aside from it being an outstanding router, this thing is very stylish and I love the blue lights, it goes well with my decor in my apartment. I recommend this for anyone looking for a new router with great coverage and speed.

Good speeds. Terrible 2.4ghz signal. Kept having to reboot every day I got home from work. Do not recommend.
