Disapointed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was very disappointed on this purchase. I have had the computer for a little of 2 months, and the Hard Drive went out. Since the warranty was still on the computer, I was able to get it repaired, but I was still disappointed.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This computer runs very slow. I got a great deal on it and I'm able to do what I have to (school work) but for surfing the Web etc I find my phone to be faster and easier.

Bad Speakers, Bad Service
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would never recommend ASUS. I loved my laptop, until the right speaker broke (it makes a very prominent fuzzy sound whenever sound is played through the speaker). Luckily I was still under warranty, so I called, worked everything out, and paid $15 for shipping. ASUS sent it back, saying that everything was "repaired." Instead everything (Microsoft office, google chrome, pictures, documents, etc.) was wiped from my computer and the speaker still does not work. I am in the middle of College and need my computer, I can no longer afford to send it back to them for another 3 weeks. I am now stuck with a broken speaker while I followed their rules to a tee. I would not recommend ASUS.

Was great, for less than a month
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this for our son for college. Salesman said this computer has a lower failure rate than Dell and HP. We were sold as we have had problems with both of those brands in the past. We'll, he used the computer less than 5 times before it wouldn't boot up anymore. Best buy wouldn't exchange because it was 30 days,(33 to be exact), so unless we paid for them to fix it, we have to send it back to Asus. Not good when you need it daily for college. Haven't gotten it back yet to know what the problem is. It was an expensive computer for us to buy, didn't ever think it would stop working after 5 uses! Hopefully this is an isolated problem and computer will be fixed.

Didn't even have time to use it before it broke
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Within a month this computer just died. I didn't even have time to use it. I bought it for school and never even watched any movies or was able to write a paper. Apparently the hardware was bad and it should have been caught at the store while they were setting up the programs (took six hours to install word and security features). So now, I am out of a working computer for 3-5 weeks. Had to buy a new one for the time being but will be returning once the old one is back. DO NOT BUY ASUS.

I hate it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This computer is super slow. I don't download anything and use it for making invoices only... It can barely handle that. Just got a new one today, can't wait to get rid of this one!

Windows update killed the machine
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The ASUS was working well enough, but as soon as I installed the August 2016 Windows update, the machine's performance degraded significantly. In fact, it went into repair mode on multiple restart attempts and finally restarted overnight. I backed-up my files to an external drive and returned the unit in favor of a Lenovo laptop. It's working great.

Worst computer I've ever purchased
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The computer hasn't worked one day since I purchased it. I purchased the Geek Squad support & have contacted them several times, but issues have never been resolved.

Awesome machine!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this item a few weeks ago and could not be happier. My HP Stream 13 served me fine for a year or so, but with only 32GB of storage it was a chore just to update Windows 10 when major release came out. I didn't realize how slow that machine was, though, until I moved to this speedster. I immediately upgraded the RAM to 12GB (remove single 2GB stick and put in 8GB stick because 4GB is soldered in) and I swapped the 1TB HDD for a 500GB SSD. That cost roughly $200 and made this machine even faster. The screen is gorgeous and battery life is fine. I'd say the battery goes ~8 hours with "normal" browsing and productivity apps. I haven't run hours of video or played games to see what happens in that environment and I'm plugged in most of the time when I use this. I also use a Logitech mouse most of the time but I'v found the trackpad to work well when I've tried it. I highly recommend this configuration and would recommend this to anyone on a budget that is looking for a great machine.

I'll never buy ASUS again
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First time ASUS consumer. Bought an ASUS notebook in mid Aug & within 2 weeks it started having problems. After doing everything ASUS reps asked of me and having my notebook returned to me in an unacceptable condition, I am back to square one and tired of having to deal with this. Extremely disappointed.

Dissapointing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Much slower performance than the specs would allow you to expect. Poorly designed keyboard layout and an automatic ASUS update to the bios two months in made the computer pretty much useless by preventing the operating system from booting. Sorry to say it but I regret buying it.

It is broken in less than a month
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am on my way to the store to return it. It is already broken in less than a month. Very angry at the product, very angry at the requirement to write at least 50 words here. Since you want that much wording, I am repeating that I don't plan to recommend this to anyone.

Not satisfied
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very good speciations are on the box and the performance of the laptop is not up to the mark when compared with same configuration laptops of different brands. I would not suggest anyone to buy this laptop.

Garbage
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Don't bother with this computer. It has tons of bloat ware and is glitchy and freezes. Returned it and got a surface pro 4 which is sweet. I mistakenly gave it 1 star because I can't select 0.

Great Laptop For College Students
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was very picky about what laptop I was going to buy because I wanted the best. So, let me start off by saying I will not buy just any laptop without doing some research. Two men at Best Buy pointed me to this computer right away after hearing what I was going to use it for (Biology major needing a laptop for school, watch movies, browse the web). I could not be happier with my product. It has everything I need and for pretty cheap compared to other models/brands I was looking at. I did upgrade to an 240 SSD to ensure I would have a speedy computer. This laptop is perfect for everyday use. I strongly recommend to any college student. It has a long battery life, easy to carry around, beautiful display, and a backlit keyboard. I strongly think it is best to make sure to tell the employees at best buy exactly what you will be doing on the computer so that they can show you the best model that will accommodate your needs. Overall, I highly recommend this laptop. I am still in my 15 day trial, If I do return the laptop or have issues I will update my review. Enjoy!

Why did I give this product and Excellent?
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had been looking for a product to replace my 8 year old notebook that gave me the features of that one plus! This is actually a better product in that it is of a high quality construction, has more operation memory, a new generation I5 processor and faster speeds than the old one. A side benefit which I was not looking for is that fact that it can serve as a Tablet and with WINDOW 10 standard it is a breeze to use either or. Whats not right with it? I would have liked a CD/DVD drive but have found if I need to load a program form one of those I use the drive in my desktop computer to do so, and I do it via Its build in Wi-Fi. With 3 USB ports, HDMI (I hook it to the 22 flat screen I use as desktop screen when in the office, nice!), It also has a micro usb port. Then there is the SD card port. Oh! forgot the Bluetooth works well too! Weight is not a problem. I use to carry a notebook with a 15" screen to make PowerPoint presentations but most place I go have a project so I don't need to carry a notebook that big anymore. Buy it, you like it!
