Purchased the first one after reading reviews. Out of the box, the disk percentage in Task Manager was always above 75%, and usually above 95%. Disk Usage should be almost always below 10% unless saving or opening a large program (i.e. Visual Studio). Went online to do all the Google fixes, nothing worked. Used Microsoft remote support and watched them do the exact same things I just did from Google. Had me reinstall windows and was still doing the same thing. Ended up trying to replace it and the second one out of the box did the exact same thing. Must be something with the insides of the computer but high disk percentage makes EVERYTHING slow, and for 12GB of RAM, that is absolutely ridiculous. DO NOT BUY ASUS

Honestly I just wanted an Asus device. It's a laptop. I only use it for surfing the web, email and shopping.

I thought 12G would be enough. I'm not doing anything but word processing, but the thing locks up on me constantly. I either got a dud or I had higher expectations than I should have. I'm returning it as soon as humanly possible.

If no stars was an option, that's what this computer would be getting. I bought this computer to replace an ASUS laptop I got in 2009. This is a work computer. I primarily use Office, Thunderbird, and browser-based programs. I was expecting to be wowed by the speed given the age of my computer. Alas, I'm pretty sure Intel is using a snail as a processor. Every time I opened something, I got Not Responding in the header or the spinning wheel. I took about four minutes to turn on once I loaded my software on it. This was WAY slower than my old computer. In fact, I'm on my old computer now, and it's so fast relative to the new computer, that I don't think I'm going to bother to replace this one yet. Very disappointed!

I purchased this laptop because of the backlight feature. It never worked when I contacted ASUS support they gave me 2 different ways to fix the problem one was to install 2 drivers one driver I installed the other I got an error message. When I contacted them again they told me I had to reset the computer and I would lose all the programs I installed. WHAT!!!!!!! Not very happy right now.

Bought 1st laptop and it quit working within 10 day. Best Buy replaced it with another. 3 days outside of return window for this secondlaptop , it quit again. After ASUS chat, they agreed it was broken and said they would fix it, BUT THEY WOULD NOT PAY POSTAGE OR PACKING. Just to return it was > $50.00, and with this model, it might break again. This is simply a terrrible product.

Returning on day 3, first time I have ever had to return a PC because it just does not work... day 1 buggy as can be....day 2 had to reboot...day 3 froze up and never came back, got death screen "Repairing disk errors. This might take over an hour to complete." Did not delete any software and only downloaded chrome & firefox...This blew up the machine

This is a total waste of your money unless you want a very expensive paperweight. The hinge broke within 17 months and the computer was not opened/closed. The screen had to be replaced twice. Nothing but a lemon and no satisfaction from ASUS online support. Buy another brand...not ASUS

We purchased this computer to replace an older dying computer, only to find out this computer is WAY SLOWER than our old one. It also has had trouble loading programs like Adobe lightroom, literally taken hours and multiple restarts. The touchpad has already stopped working, and it is only 10 days old! The computer is boxed and getting sent back.

I am not a techy, but this computer is garbage. It is slow, nothing ever seems to load properly. I let myself get talked into what I thought was an upgrade over my old desk top with Windows 7. I would take that one back anyday over this. Very disappointed and I won't be buying an ASUS anytime in the near future.

After doing research, I got this laptop. Seemed like the best value for what I was looking for. Out of the box, I was sadly disappointed in its performance. Maybe I got a dud. Extremely slow and freezes often. I'll be returning it.
