    Lightweight, Powerful and Excellent Audio/Visuals

I wasn't sure about spending so much on this laptop, but it's been great so far. The screen is incredible, the speakers are great and it has a ton of power for such a small device. Overall, the audio/visual experience with this laptop is something else. It does run hot, but that's to be expected in such a thin machine. It still has enough thermal headroom that it hasn't completely throttled on me and performance stays consistent. Performance mode is quiet and does a good job of giving you good performance without a lot of fan noise. Moving into turbo or custom modes and the fans can get really loud but you get a good bit more performance whenever the GPU is able to pull more power. It's played everything I've thrown at it so far, but DLSS is needed for some games. I know many don't like upscalers or frame generation, but they help to make this machine what it is. 240Hz with 3x frame generation is really impressive, in my opinion, and it wouldn't be possible to fully utilize the impressive display without frame gen. The chassis is very light and surprisingly so. I didn't expect it to be quite so light, I can barely feel it in my bag whenever I bring it along with me. Battery life is pretty OK. Keeping it in silent mode with the iGPU taking over, I've been able to get about 5-6 hours of actual usage before having to plug in which is pretty impressive for the level of performance this thing is capable of. That being said, performance on battery is nowhere near what it is plugged in, but that's going to be the case with any laptop. The only problem I've had with this laptop has been with part of the audio drivers. "Cirrus Logic Awesome Speaker Amps" often does not initialize properly whenever the laptop restarts and causes the speakers to basically stop working. Uninstalling the service in device manager and then scanning for hardware changes fixes it for a while, but after a few times of putting the laptop to sleep and waking it back up, the service will stop working and I'll have to go back and redo it to fix the audio. Restarting does not always fix it, either. It's a small thing, but pretty annoying for such an expensive machine. I don't really think it's worth deducting a point as the rest of the package is excellent. Hopefully ASUS is able to fix that minor complaint at some point or maybe I'll find a work-around. This is a very solid laptop, but the form factor means the performance is compromised. If you're planning to take it with you often, it's an amazing machine. If you need a desktop replacement that you'll move occasionally, you'll get better performance and thermals out of a larger machine and likely for less money. I'd recommend this laptop to anyone that wants something portable, but wants some more performance whenever you're able to plug in.

Fast and Lightweight, but runs hot

I love how fast and responsive this laptop is—it handles everything I throw at it effortlessly. It’s incredibly lightweight, which was a big reason I chose it. The only downside is that it can get very hot during heavy use, so I had to invest in a strong cooling pad. Overall, if you want a super portable and speedy laptop and don’t mind managing the heat, this is a great choice!

Great laptop with some ('resolvable') quirks

This computer checks a lot of the boxes for me. I'm upgrading from my 2021 G15 with the RTX 3070, so the graphics improvements are welcomed here. I did have an issue with the USB-C DisplayPort (it didn't matter which port) where it didn't like my USB-C to DP cable (despite it still working perfectly fine on my older G15). Windows would constantly chime, signaling a device connecting/disconnecting while not operating at the highest color depth and refresh rate. After seemingly endless debugging with Best Buy and ASUS, I bought another brand's cable which fixed that issue. Neither Best Buy nor ASUS were helpful in the debugging process, only offering advice that I've already done on my own, so they'd just recommend turning in the laptop for a new one. The computer has experienced random crashes after I would lock the computer (sometimes within a minute of me locking the computer). This issue seemingly fixed itself. I did attempt to look at the logs but nothing stood out I also did experience another USB issue with my USB 3.0 hub where the audio would randomly glitch out (and would wake my laptop on its lock screen every few minutes, and similarly to the above, it would generate the Windows chime indicating a device connecting/disconnecting). By the time I ordered a new hub to compare it against, the problem seemingly solved itself. Aside from these pesky annoyances, this laptop is a LOT of fun to use, ripping through all of my older games and managing current titles like Doom Dark Ages.

The G16 is a terrific powerhouse in a super light body. I primarily use it with a external 5K monitor for productivity. The left-side USB-C is a Thunderbolt port which combines power, display and USB. I can also play games in this setting, and the eGPU performance is good enough for me. It is also portable on the move, and feels surprisingly lighter than my 2021 MacBook Pro 16".

An almost perfect Windows device. Battery life is great when in light use (G Helper options instead of Armoury Crate), performance is great when plugged in, and the screen is awesome. One star down because the screen can burn in temporarily at highest brightness and there is the Asus stuttering problem where there is a random glitch in audio every so often.

This laptop exceeded every expectation. The OLED display is the first thing that stands out — extremely bright, smooth at 240Hz, and perfect for both gaming and productivity. The Intel Ultra 9 and RTX 5080 combo handles everything I throw at it without hesitation, and the 64GB RAM keeps every workload smooth, even when multitasking heavy apps. Thermals are solid, the fans are surprisingly quiet under load, and the build quality feels premium. The 2TB SSD is fast and gives plenty of room for games and projects. If you want top-tier performance in a lightweight, clean-looking machine, this one is hard to beat.

Very good, very fast, very slim, You just have to make sure to edit some of the armory crate settings when running certain games to make sure you're getting the best temps and performance, but overall definitely the best laptop I've ever purchased in my life. I love it

The G16 with 64GB and 5080 RTX Graphics Card and 240Hz 16" OLED screen is the perfect mobile combo for me. The RAM can handle a ton of tabs for web browsing, We're talking over 100 tabs opened! The Graphics card can handle my favorite games without any issues. The laptop is also very lightweight and thin for a gaming laptop with this kind of specs! If it had a number pad, it would be even better! but then again, not everyone want or needs a number pad. I'm very happy with this laptop!

I am incredibly pleased with this laptop. The display is crisp and vivid. This is my second Zephyrus, and it is limited in terms of upgrades, but with 64 GB of RAM, a massive CPU, and a GPU, there is no need for upgrades. I did add the second NVME drive, but you will need a screw to secure it. It does not come with the screw.

So far super satisfied about it's performance, especially considered how much 64gb or RAM are now, if you will be able to find it under 3k again it's a great deal. The option to add a second ssd is also great, perfect for dual boot

I purchased this nearly $4k ROG Zephyrus G16 in June of 2025 with a 5080, 64GB of RAM, an a 2TB SSD. Looks wise, she's a stunner, and that OLED screen is just beautiful. For older gamers that enjoy a more minimalistic aesthetic, this definitely fits the bill. I've never really splurged on myself like this, so my hopes were high. Unfortunately, those hopes were soon dashed by the lack of stability with this machine. At first, I was just getting a couple crashes per day--completely hung requiring a hard reset. Mind you, I don't play really demanding games--mostly it's isometric stuff like Diablo 4. WhoCrashed reported that most of these were related to nvlddmkm.sys drivers or DPC watchdog detecting thermal issues 'likely caused by a hardware problem'. Okay. Did a clean reinstall of the latest Nvidia drivers (581.80). No change. Increasing crashes. A lot just from waking the machine, not even gaming. The Zephyrus almost daily will go through four boot cycles before it gets to desktop (sometimes requiring hard power cycles to even get there). I should have returned it, but I kept thinking with each new driver update or system update through MyAsus, that it would get better. It did not. The machine literally cannot be left in a sleeping state without a hard crash later, either while it's in sleep mode or when trying to wake it. I'm really upset and disappointed. I've still got 6 months of warranty for parts and labors, so I'll take it in for service and then sell it if I can. But for this Cyber Monday (today), save yourself the headache and look elsewhere.
