Best Value WiFi 7 Router and its Asus

There were three firmware updates in February that have resolved all of the issues. The cores are running optimally and no reboots needed! For the price of $212.99 (on sale, this is a steal to get a wifi7 router, check out the review of this from Dong Knows. His review is spot on!

Slower Wi-Fi speeds & internet outages

Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had the RT-BE92U Wi-Fi 7 router for almost 2 weeks and it has been extremely frustrating using the internet during this time. The router randomly reboots on occasion and causes internet outages too often. I have rebooted the router and made sure the firmware was up to date. However, the issues persisted. My previous Netgear Wi-Fi 6 AX5200 router also provided faster Wi-Fi speeds at least on the upload side than this router and did not have any random disconnect or internet outages caused by it. I am returning this terrible product and Asus really needs to recall this product or figure out what the heck is wrong with it. There are other reviews out there saying the same thing after doing more research, and I will not buy another Asus networking product and stick with Netgear.

To resolve the issue, please ensure the router is well ventilated to avoid overheating that may cause the router to auto-start. Additionally, check if the router's network configuration is correct and matches with your ISP's modem credentials. Misconfiguration, like incorrect IP address assignments, conflicting SSID names, or incompatible security settings may cause the router to automatically restart. Awesome router

I forgot to grab the one I had when I moved, so it got left behind, but definitely wanted to order the same one for my new place. You can create different networks on this router to support new devices, and older devices. I just wish 2-gig fiber was available where I live now, but I’ll just have to settle for 1-gig for now.

Disconnect from multiple devices everyday.

Updated the firmware several times, need to reset 2-3 times per day to get the Asus app working on a Pixel phone. Too bad past the return window.

We do understand your disappointment with the product and the inconvenience this may have caused if you are experiencing connection problems. To resolve the unstable connection, verify if the PC or device connecting to the router is within range to the router, the router is within 30 feet to the ISP's modem, if not wired with a network cable, and ISP's internet service or connection is working properly or stable. Legacy devices may not work properly with WIFI-6E or WIFI-7, please check updates for these devices. Also, try to disable "Smart Connect" and try connecting these manually to either 2.4GHz or 5GHz. Furthermore, place the router in the center of the area you want to cover, avoid placing the router near metal objects, electronic devices or direct sunlight, position the router on a flat, hard surface and halfway between the floor and ceiling. Additionally, dense building materials, such as gypsum, concrete walls and planks can affect Wi-Fi signal penetration.

Works great - when it decides to work and not randomly disconnect.

I am not happy with ASUS, this is garbage.

I had the fios people out, my connection is good, gotta be the router, right? So I put this one in and I have other problems, most of which are inconsistent connections with my wireless items in the house. Computers, Xbox, switches, iPhones, you name it, inconsistent connections. It's not even that old, but I've already had to factory reset it two times because it was completely frozen! Expensive garbage that I cannot return now. I'm not happy with ASUS and I will not be purchasing this brand in the future.

To resolve this, if you are connecting legacy devices, these may not work properly with WIFI-6 and WIFI-7, please check updates for these device. Also, try connecting this manually to either 2.4GHz or 5GHz. Also we recommend updating the router's firmware if running with an older version. Trash wish i could return

Just barely outside the return window and the router is already proving itself to be worthless. The 2.4 GHz band constantly drops out, making the whole unit nothing but overpriced trash.

Poor firmware or bad design or both?

It frequently reboots or drops all WIFI connections and has to be rebooted, as others have stated in the BB reviews and in ASUS forums. ASUS has been releasing firmware updates almost monthly and the reboots are less frequent but still happen several times a week. Maybe it's just a firmware bug and eventually they will work it out, but at this point I cannot recommend this router to anyone. For $200+, I expect better quality control from a name brand company like ASUS.

Constant Connection Drop and Higher CPU usage

I upgraded and added this router to my existing AIMesh, but this was a mistake. Always had a great experience with Asus router, and this one is hot garbage. First 2-3 weeks, it worked with out any issue, and now the internet us keeps dropping for no reason. Tried everything what Asus suggested, tried all the tricks from online different forums, and groups, but seems like it is a design issue and firmware is unable to fix it.
