Horrible laptop. 2 days into owning it I turned off and turned on. Bios uefi password. Can't reset it. Asus won't fix it. And Best buy wouldn't replace it. It's a good paper weight.

The Windows 11 was simple and quick, no suprises there. Very thin and lightweight, but still feels sturdy. Performance is very good in all modes including the performance mode. The OLED screen looks bright and sharp and looks like a higher resolution than what it really is. Backlit keyboard is nice and is a must have feature for me for the last 7 years. Typing felt natural and not cramped. The touchpad was also easy to use and I did not have any issues with it. The SD card reader is great because I take a lot of photos and the SD reader gives me another option for image transfer. The sound quality was suprisingly good, I think the outward angle had something to do with it. But it still won't compare with the sound of a high-end laptop. The battery life was good, but it could have been better. The webcam worked well, but the bonus is that it has a built-in privacy slider that will save me some money. One minor issue with this laptop is that fingerprints are unavoidable, not a dealbreaker, but it is something to note. Overall, I have no complaints so I'm giving this laptop 5 stars.

    Beauty and the beast

It is hard not to be impressed by this new Asus Vivobook laptop. The OLED screen is gorgeous, of course, thanks in part to the screaming fast nVidia GeForce RTX Studio graphics chip powering it. The internal specs are impressive too, with a powerful 13th generation Intel Core i7 chip providing the overall horsepower, a superfast NVMe 500G SSD providing storage and a hefty 16G of DDR5 RAM installed to keep all the programs running smoothly. Never mind all the little things, like support for the latest and greatest WiFi 6E routers (which support the new less crowded 6Ghz band), Dolby Atmos sound (the best I heard on any laptop) , a self-adjusting backlit keyboard, and a battery that provides up to 8 hours of run time. There's a fingerprint reader on the off/on button too, for easy log in. Or you can use facial recognition, if you prefer. That's supported too using the laptop's built in camera. The computer is even clad in a special silver ion "antibacterial guard" coating that promises to inhibit 99 percent of all bacterial growth for at least three years. I have never seen that before. (Although it does attract smudges and fingerprints rather easily) But this does not mean there are not a few beastly blemishes to mar this high tech beauty. And that has mostly to do with a somewhat cumbersome and clunky setup experience. That process took much longer and was more tedious that it once was, in part because installing Windows and Asus's own support software involves going through endless screens basically asking you permission for them to monitor everything you do 24/7. Some are obvious permission requests, because they claim they are concerned about your privacy. Some are disguised as "free" offers for something, which almost always are free because you first have to give somebody permission to monitor everything you do 24/7. Every web site you visit. Every program you run, and for how long. Everything you say, even. Laptops have cameras and microphones, after all. Just say "no." Sadly, if you care about your privacy, you have no choice but to proceed slowly through this minefield. You have to read every option carefully and turn off as much as possible as you go. But that is only the first step in the not-so-pleasant setup process. The next is simply gaining basic functionality, like getting a mouse to work. Most people use wireless mice these days but they wont work on this Vivobook during setup. At least not by just plugging them the wireless transceiver (as has been the case with every other new laptop I set up recently.) Windows typically automatically downloads the drivers for such devices but did not with my Logitech wireless mouse. I had to go out find the software myself, and manually download and install it. Short of that, you must use a wired mouse or the built-in touchpad (I hate touchpads). Annoying. And here's something else odd: This laptop has a backlit keyboard. But it was off by default during setup. And it was not at all clear how to turn it on. Who thought this was a good idea? Interestingly, the camera and microphone were ON by default, but there is no way to tell that. I later found the function buttons that control them have little indicator lights embedded in them, but they only come on when the devices are off, not on. The opposite of what you would expect. Eventually you get to the point where you have to install all the Windows updates, which were somewhat slow to appear and download. Some of these updates are quite large so this can take quite a bit of time. Several reboots are necessary to get everything installed and working. This is standard fare on most new machines. I thought I was done with setup at that point but then noticed, in digging around the Windows update section, there were some buried "optional" updates that were quite important. One was an Asus firmware update, and those usually contain critical fixes to the BIOS. So I got that installed too. Finally, you really need to install the MyAsus software, which provides a lot of useful tools to control and monitor of all aspects of the laptop. But that also requires you register, set up a name and password. OK. Phew! Done at last. Once up and running, this Vivobook is truly a delight to use. It is superfast, and the OLED screen provides the best image quality you have probably ever see on a laptop. (Although this option is becoming more common on high-end models) Bright vivid colors. Amazing contrast. True blacks. Video and games look amazing. OLED can't be beat when it comes to image quality. Since this is an OLED screen, you have a lot of options to tweak it, including overall color options that range from vivid to muddy looking. (Turn on HDR, which is supported on this laptop, if you prefer colors muted and an overall dark cast to everything. I am not sure why anyone would want that, but it is available) There are lots of controls related to protecting the OLED screen from burn in, the one big disadvantage of this technology. Any image that remains in one place, unmoving, for a very long time (like the Windows taskbar) may leave a ghost of the image burned into the screen. So take advantage of the tools provided in the MyAsus app to prevent that. One other caveat regarding the screen. Like most OLEDs, it is very shiny and therefore more prone to reflection issues than other laptop screens. But in actual use, I did not find this to be a major issue. While you are browsing the MyAsus app, be sure to look at the audio controls. Dolby Atmos is supported but turned off by default (for known reasons) so be sure to turn that on first. It provides a lot of extra depth and the illusion of side speakers if the audio source supports surround sound effects. Power users also are likely to be impressed with graphics capability of this Vivobook, since the nVidia GeForce RTX Studio setup turns the laptop into something more akin to a powerful workstation. Photo and video editors will find things move along a lot faster than they might expect using a laptop. And that same power makes gaming a lot more fun as well, since everything moves smoother and faster. The only thing unimpressive about this Asus Vivobook is the housing, which is little more than a big slab of black plastic. No metal accents, no textured designs, no lighted logos. But this is one laptop where it really is what's inside that counts.

I think that this is a great option for the student in the house. I was in love with the size of the screen and unsure at first about the size/weight combination. After my daughter worked on it for a full week, including some commute to the colleague, I can say that is a great option, very light but still 15.6 in. Some of her words are below. The first great element of Asus Creator Laptop Q QLED it’s the speed with the 100% DCI-P3. To avoid the extra heat, was made with triple-vented dual fans with up to 90W TDP for max performance. The connectivity is great it has Thunderbolt 4 40Gbps for fast data transfer. Network connection, HDMI port, and three USB ports plus audio. I think that this eliminates the need for a dock station and lightens her backpack. From a sound perspective, it includes an ASUS AI noise-canceling audio and 3-mic 360 array for clear speech. The volume works perfectly fine, the sound system is excellent. The great element is the superscreen, 70% lower blue-light emissions and auto-brightness for eye comfort and power saving. The only sad part is this is not a touch screen but I guess that brings lower price and sturdiness. Resistance for a daily commuter was important for us, and this laptop is graded in “the world’s strictest military-grade consumer laptop testing”. This could also be equivalent to a colleage student backpack. When it comes to the camera it gives a noticeably clear image and it works well when I used it on zoom meeting for school. From my daughter: This laptop I think is best for those who need a laptop for working from home or who need a laptop to work on their school assignments or if they take online classes also for those who love gaming, I think this would be a good laptop for them. What I found best about this laptop is that it has a huge screen. I really enjoyed doing my class work on it and streaming shows on it. The screen is noticeably clear and bright, but the brightness did not hurt my eyes when I used the laptop for a long time. So far, I am really enjoying this laptop and the speed on it is incredibly good as well. I will recommend this laptop if the person needs a serious size screen and you compromise with the additional laptop size.

Powerhouse machine, no touch screen - Great Value

I’d been looking for a laptop which was light enough to carry around with me on vacation, but also powerful enough that I could edit the pictures and videos that I like to take. My previous machine is a little more than 3 years old and it gets bogged down when I try to pull some footage from my Insta 360 camera. This machine, with its dedicated GPU and dedicated memory has been a breath of fresh air. It boots fast and even has a fingerprint reader for secure access without having to use a password. Videos that previously took 70 minutes to render now render in 20. Programs open near instantly. My daughter tried a couple of games and was very happy with the performance. She said it’s faster than the 3 year old desktop she’s been using. The downside is the standard 500GB SSD. It’s plenty fast, but not enough room on it for more than a game or 2. Also note that the screen resolution is 1920 x 1080 max. While that’s sharp enough for my video work, it would be nice to have a sharper screen for photo editing. The screen is also not touch sensitive nor does it respond to a stylus (i.e. Windows Ink). That said, it’s very solid. It still has a glass front, keeping any pressure from affecting the screen itself. I was able to use it in a car with minimal reflection, despite the glass front. At just under 4 pounds, this remains portable despite being 14” wide (15.6” diagonal screen). It fits easily in my backpack and doesn’t weigh it down. The keyboard is very comfortable to use, with nearly the same key travel as my desktop keyboard. It has a numeric keypad which is a little skinnier than a standard keyboard, but very usable. Intel’s Gen 13 processors raise the bar of performance again. While streaming a movie will drain the 72 Wh battery quickly, I’m easily able to get 3 hours of basic writing and spreadsheets out of it. Since my day job is as an accountant, that means I can take just a single machine with me when I go away as my work applications are all cloud based. Nothing felt slow, even switching between tabs with many open simultaneously. Photo editing was a snap, as well as video stitching and editing. I love the true colors which the OLED screen puts out. My photos have never looked clearer. The screen folds flat open, but does not stretch beyond 180 degrees. My previous laptop could open into a tablet, but I can only recall a handful of times that I used that function. One quirk is when plugging it in, either with the included power brick or a USB-C PD connection, the screen will go blank for a few seconds. This was how I discovered the car adapter I had was unreliable. The screen kept going blank and prevented me from getting much done on the machine in the car. Overall, this is a generally well-built machine with good specs and a good screen. Given the other specs on this machine, I would have hoped for a touch screen and higher resolution to make photo retouching easier. This is still an excellent value for what it provides.

I have several laptops from a variety of manufacturers, including another two year old model from Asus. This particular Asus is as good as it gets when it comes to build quality and feel and comes with a beautiful screen. This unit does not come with a touch screen, but I have found, lately, that I really don't use the touch screen feature much anyway and really don't miss it. For some people, the lack of a touch screen could be a deal breaker, so just be aware. This is also not a two in one type laptop. The screen doesn't fold over the back or stand up like an art easle. This is a 15.6 inch laptop with a really nice OLED screen and an RTX3050 GPU that makes it a very good laptop for use with normal computer operations as well as working with video and graphics files and playing games mostly on high to very high settings. There a number of ports available including Thunderbolt ports and includes an SD card reader. Overall, it has about as many ports as most anyone would need. My model has a 512 SSD drive and is loaded with Windows 11 out of the box. From my experience with my other Asus laptop, this company makes a good product and this model has a great feel and build quality. Also, this unit has one feature on the keyboard that I have not had on any of my other laptops. It has a number pad on the right side of the keyboard. I don't know if I will use it a lot, but it is nice to have and does not seem to interfere with the use of the other keys in any way. Also, I am impressed with the size of the built in mouse pad and the amount of room you have to rest your wrist while typing. Overall, I think this laptop was thought out very well and would make just about anyone a great laptop that is capable of doing a lot of work.

Great price, I got mine for $799 plus tax. Nice weight, not heavy. I love the ASUS diagnostic software and shortcut key to check the computer performance. Great screen, good power performance for demanding apps, i.e. Ableton live 11. Battery life could have been better and I wish it had fast charging; even though it doesn't take forever to charge but would have love quick charging. I must state again, I love the fully featured ports. Great buy, great computer.

Have had the ASUS laptop for about a month and have been very satisfied with the power, display, and ergonomics. The only disappointment has been battery life. Without doing anything heavy duty - just web browsing or Office apps, it seems to last a few hours. However, I am only charging it to 80% to prolong the # of charge/discharge cycles as suggested in setup.

Where to start...This computer is awesome! First and foremost, the display on this laptop is fantastic. clean and clear blacks, color, and more. I would honestly never go back to something that doesn't have an OLED in a laptop. I would consider myself a gamer and probably log about 20-25 hours a week into games on my computers. Here is what I have found based on the game, CSGO & CS2 - fantastic job, no stutters. Civ 6 & Total Wars - CPU handles load well and appears to work with little to no waiting and lag. Star Citizen - Only issues relate to the buggyness of the game and not the machine. Full size HDMI port is awesome, I would have loved to see a full sized SD card slot, and more USB - C. Keyboard offers great feel and response. Keyboard is a little compressed compared to full sized and takes a little getting used to (got the hang of it after half an hour of so.) I am not quite sold on having a 10 key for this form factor. build quality feels good. full ethernet port is nice. camera cover is another nice touch. I would recommend this for any video production, photography due to the OLED display. it just happens to also game really well too!

overall rating is good. nice screen, fast processing, screen size is decent. i don't think the ethernet port is needed now. i haven't use cable for many years.. that's kind silly. price is 800USD, with this spec, i think its good deal

Mediocre battery life, the metal that the laptop is made out of is a fingerprint magnet, and if you use serious software the laptop fans convert into a rotary engine at 8k rpm. I bought this product on sale so at that price point I would say it is worth it... However the retail price is steep and you might be able to find a better product.
