I love the weight of this laptop. It is very light and compact for excellent mobility. Out of the box I needed to charge my laptop first. It charged pretty quickly. In order to set up, updates had to be completed first. My biggest complain was the amount of time it took for the updates to be completed. It took over an hour for the laptop to finish all of the updates before I could continue with the set up. I checked my WiFi, there were no issues , so not sure what took so long. Once the updates were completed the remainder of the set up went smoothly. The talk feature is available if you want to use it. This laptop has a touch pad number pad on the space where you navigate as a mouse. You just have to press and hold the on/off button for a second to toggle between number keys or touch pad. You can turn the number pad feature on and off. I thought this was a unique feature. There are several different ports on both sides. . Surfing the web is quick and easy. The laptop is very responsive. The keyboard is comfortable for typing. The screen is not a touch screen. Not a real deal breaker. The graphics are pretty good. The screen is bright and pictures are sharp and clear. I am mainly using the laptop for work purposes. Once I logged into my office account, I was able to work with zero difficulty. This is a great device, the volume from speakers are crisp and clear. I have not tried all of the features, but so far not complaints. As for battery life. The battery drained quite a bit while doing the updates. The battery life over all is not that great. In my opinion, I think it drains faster than it should. Charging does not take a lot of time. So far I am pretty pleased with this laptop.

During my initial examination of this laptop, I was not impressed at all. But then my wife reminded me of its price, and it becomes much more reasonable. In general, this laptop is sufficient for basic web browsing, email, document processing (writing documents and so forth). But don't expect blazing performance or the ability to perform multiple tasks at one time. When I first powered this up and went through the initial configuration, I was dismayed at how sluggish it was. When I opened Task Manager, I noticed the CPU utilization was pegged at 100%. In a low powered computer, this really zaps it's power. Once all of the Windows updates had completed (several reboots and close to an hour later) the CPU level was finally dropping. But I noticed that even with everything completed and nothing running, the CPU was still around 20%. Compared to my other laptop (admittedly far more powerful) running around 3%, it still had some sluggishness. But again, we are talking about a computer with a dual core CPU compared to one with more than 16 cores. Just using the laptop for general use (web browsing mostly) it is fine. And again remembering the price, you have a full featured Windows 11 laptop for the price of a Chromebook. As shipped, this runs in Windows S Mode, which only allows installing applications from the Windows Store. But it's a simple process to disable S Mode (which cannot be restored, once it's disabled it cannot be turned back on) and be able to install any Windows application. This laptop has one very slick feature: the touchpad has an integral numeric keypad that can be quickly switched on/off. This allows a more compact size but still offer a full size keyboard and also offer a keypad. I've never seen that before and really like it. I believe the major issue with performance is that it only has 4GB of RAM, and cannot be increased. If it had a DIMM slot to add memory, I believe it would be much more responsive. Best Buy offers the same laptop with 8GB of RAM, and I believe most people would be happier with that version. I would rate this as five stars with that additional RAM.

I have a small woodworking shop and in that shop I have a CNC machine. I have had approximately 4 laptops that I have gone through in the past several years. The issue is the dust that is created, even though I have an air filtration system and use a shop vac that is attached to almost every tool, the computers just aren’t built for that environment. I have built an enclosure around the CNC, but the problem is the machine has to be connected to the laptop by USB. W/ this Asus Vivobook my son and I built an enclosure just for the laptop to see if that would help. For the cost of this laptop I thought I would give it a try. I truly like this Asus laptop, the initial setup to my home wi-fi was seamless and I was online in minutes. I did have an issuer getting it hooked up to my CNC, but I think that was more my fault as it was the laptop. I downloaded the software that I use to operate my CNC, as well as several others that I use to help w/ the cuts that I use. I like the weight of this Asus laptop, it’s lightweight and overall it’s a very well made laptop. The one thing to keep in mind is you are not buying a laptop that cost’s 1K or more, this is a cheaper laptop, but don’t let the price be a hinderance in your decision to purchase it or not. It comes w/ all the bells and whistles as other laptops in this price range and in my opinion it out performs some of the other budget level laptops. Is this a fast computer? No, it does lag somewhat when I used it to watch a video or put it to the “test” so to speak. However, it does what I need it to do w/ my CNC machine and that’s all that I can ask of it. I am not able to do all the designs I used to do on the older ones, but it does what I need it to do. If you are looking for a budget friendly laptop that in my opinion is reliable I would recommend this laptop.

Asus- CX14 14" FHD Laptop with Google AI - Intel Core 3 - 8GB Memory - 128GB eMMC is a lovely laptop with a nice punch. Asus equipped the computer with an Intel Core 3 series Celeron processor, which isn't on the high end, but it does the job well. It also features excellent UHD graphics, so it does the job well if you're streaming movies or just working. It comes with a 14-inch display. It also boasts a very nice numeric keypad on the mouse pad. It is a Windows 11 Home in S Mode, which Google powers. It comes with apps like the new Gemini and full Google Play Store access. I also enjoyed the Gemini Advance and 2GB of storage with a 12-month trial. The HD 1920x1080 nano-edge display is quite nice. The lithium battery boasts a 12-hour life and can get you through a day of tasks. When you get into Google AI, it is like whipped cream and cherries on top. I also liked the YouTube Premium offer for three months, which was a good add-on. If you're looking for a nicely priced notebook PC, check this one out. You won't be dissapointed

Right out of the box, this ASUS VIVOBOOK 14" Laptop was great! Unexpected performance for its size, good reaction, lightweight (...really like that...), and I ESPECIALLY liked the unique "numeric pad" built into the mouse pad making it a very handy multi-function feature. I typically do not like the built-in mouse pads because I find them cumbersome and less feature-rich than a standalone Mouse. However, this built-in numeric pad was easy to use, accurate, and it didn't get in the way. I use my laptops for number crunching, so I always need a separate numeric pad and I'm loving this one! A real winner!! The overall speed of the processor is great for me as I usually just use Office apps and do internet surfing and shopping a lot! I'm not a gamer at all, so I can't talk to how performance is for those things. The setup was incredibly easy ... maybe too easy because I made a slight mistake and accepted the autoloading of my standard defaults from my home desktop ... not what I want on a traveling laptop. I still have to clean that up. But everything was super easy getting going I haven't had any issues with internet or printer connections. I look forward to taking this little ASUS on my month-long vacation in about 3 weeks, much less weight to carry around vs my 17" laptop. The only slight annoyance is the 14" screen .... I'm constantly zooming in/out so I can see

This Asus Vivobook has been great for our family. I love how this laptop is thin, lightweight, functional, and easy to use. We are a homeschooling family so I rely heavily on this laptop to create lessons, worksheets, schedules, and more. The graohics on the laptop are amazing and vibrant, the speed of this laptop is top tier for us, and it has been great for my kids educational videos & other material. My children have also used it to play games and the graphics for their games showed clearly and vibrant. Its really easy & convenient to connect to my printer for printing out all the documents we need. Its slim design allows me to take it on the go whenever and wherever I need to. The sound is also clear and loud when watching videos on this laptop. Thw keyboard is comfortable to use as well when typing. Overall as a homeschool mom, this has been an amazing laptop for the entire family to benefit from. Asus has always been our go to for laptop needs due to their reliability and great pricing for a great device.

This laptop is a great machine for basic use. To highlight, the packaging was great. It was good in that it was well thought out and clearly organized the product. Additionally, the included power cable was solid in quality with no obvious concerns. After removing the product and charging cable from the box, I booted it up. POST/ Boot up seemed very quick. What was not quick was the amount of updates needed. I spent about 30 minutes updating the machine. This felt like the longest 30 minutes of my life, but it is understandable as Windows seems to have updates pretty frequently for a wide variety of drivers, the operating system and other things. After boot, updates and restarts, I was able to login and get everything setup. It seemed very smooth. I had a concern about storage on the machine. There is not a way that I could see to expand storage on the device, so this is good if you don't want a lot of photos and videos stored locally (cloud still works great for many applications). This is a great machine for a student with light work.
