Easy to install with no hassles and works fast and great.

I just purchased this router yesterday and was pretty amazed at how simple it was to set up. I got all my wifi things connected to it, including Smartthings home automation without any trouble. But, then me and my spouse quickly noticed that our laptops were losing their wifi connections every few minutes! We would have to disconnect and then reconnect to get back online. And, my spouse's computer was just purchased yesterday too. My laptop is a bit older but, was working fine with our older, wireless N router. I tried talking to someone at ASUS but, was told that the problem must be with my computer. They didn't even attempt to take me through any steps to resolve the problem. I ran some sort of diagnostic on my computer and it said that the connection between the router and modem was bad. So, I changed out the ethernet cable that came with the router. That seemed to fix it!!! Or, so I thought..... just a few minutes ago I was very angry when I lost my wifi connection again! I just don't get it. Again, this may be my computer but, these problems only started after we got this router!

I have used several ASUS routers over the years and this one continues to be great. The WIFI coverage is excellent, admin dashboard is feature-rich, and there are included LAN ports.

I have had it with this router. I have had days where it will freeze up 3 or 4 times. While I love the built in parental controls/cloud storage/and VPN capabilities, It's gotta work more than 3 days in a row. And the fact that this Router (after looking around on various sites) is pretty well known for this issue and Asus hasn't released a firmware to fix it is why I will be changing brands for my next purchase.

This router is an okay performer. I tried several routers and the throughput of others such as the Netgear R8000 is much better.

Setup is initially easy, and without a software disk. The thing was s'posed to improve on my 4-yr old Belkin N600, and communicate with iPad, iPhones, Kindle, and upstairs all-in-one Lenovo computer. (Bought the Lenovo refurbished from BestBuy ... wonderful!) First problems were that one of the devices had some proxy issue. Digging thru the router manager, I managed to correct that. How a person that had no experience as a sys-admin would fix that, I have no idea. I got all the devices working ... for a while. Long-story short, using the GCI speedtest, within about 8 feet of the router all is good, giving spec'ed values for our ISP contract. Twice that distance and speed dropped down to about 30%. Thirty feet away, and you were really hurtin', so much as to be pretty non-functional. But it was erratic; not so much with the old Belkin. That was all yesterday. Ready for fresh frustration today, in prep for a trip to BestBuy, I power-cycled the modem and the router, and the router won't power up. I tested the wall-wart which is still giving the stated 19V. Why did I pay for this frustration? Don't know if I'll try another of the same, hoping this one is just a random piece-of-doodoo, or what. Switching from 2.4 GHz to 5, or back, for any particular device was little help. I guess the 2.4 should be more robust, but don't take my word for that.

works well, purchased one for my parents home with a very small pipe, and one for my house hold, love the interface works w/ xbox android ios everything.

This unit would not connect after my tech gal worked on it for 8 hrs. After calling Asus support they told us to return it to the store. Hope the next one works better. Sign me doubtful.

This product is ok. It serves its purpose to provide wi-fi.

i bought for gaming, and streaming upstairs to my ps4, and guess what....it doesn't push the 5gz connection from my other netgear wireless router i just bought up there. these products DO NOT WORK

Replaced an existing 10/100 router and wifi access point, was hoping to upgrade wired and wifi performance. WRONG. Wired performance is great - bazinga zoom. Wifi in the same room with the asus is good, but get too far away (which is the next room!!) and wifi performance drops to lousy. two rooms away and it is completely unacceptable. I selected this unit because its reviews seemes less bad than the others, but in hindsight . . .

I had this for a week and attempted to set it up multiple times. Not only would it not set up but it was just a pain. I know enough to set up a router and called when I had issues-It would not auto select the correct setup method based on my internet. After calling and talking to ASUS....I returned it. I wasted almost a week on this thing and it just wasn't worth it. I'll be doing more research before I buy a new one.

Loved it until it stopped working. For the price it should have lasted way longer than two years and it gives me pause on purchasing Asus products. I understand every manufacturer has some defects, that I get, but it’s still disappointing to spend this kind of money only for it to stop working outside of warranty.
