Bought about a month ago from Best Buy. The charger already failed and the only way to get it replaced it to make an appointment with Geek Squad and have them order a replacement because Asus refuses to deal directly with the customer and said I had to call Best Buy. Asus has a history of bad tech support, I only bought the laptop because of the specs and the sale price.

There are a lot of things that I really like about this laptop, but first and foremost is the screen. It's very pretty to look at - not only is the 2.8K resolution great, not only do the colors look very good on this display, but the 120Hz refresh rate is the cherry on top that makes this thing better to look at than my gaming monitor. Admittedly, the downside is that the screen is ridiculously reflective to the point I could almost use it as a mirror; but because of how otherwise *good* it looks I really don't mind. The Iris Xe iGPU also handles the display without issue, though I will admit I haven't tried gaming on this machine. I've mostly been using it for art, which it handles very well. The touchscreen does seem a bit shoehorned into it since the display can bend up to 180 degrees but no further, but I suppose it's nice to have. I'm a bigger fan of the fact that it does have a USB-A port I can plug my drawing tablet into. I'm pretty sure that I have the entry-level model of this machine, with 8GB of RAM (DDR5), an i5, and integrated graphics rather than a dedicated GPU; but even so, it feels ridiculously powerful. Apparently the i5 has twelve cores now? This machine even boots up faster than my gaming desktop. Another thing I really love is the chassis. The keyboard feels nice - it's... mushy, but in a high-quality way. It doesn't flex under the force of my typing. The body appears to be metal and is very nice to touch, the trackpad is super slick and doesn't have that plasticky feel, and it's pretty decently lightweight in spite of all this. There's even a keyboard backlight. There's a lot of extras too - ASUS crammed a facial recognition camera that works super well into that tiny little bezel, the microphones and the camera quality are pretty decent, the speakers aren't my *favorite* but they're pretty good, and they didn't skimp out on the SSD with a 128GB one. The *only* gripe I have with this laptop is that it doesn't seem super upgradeable - from what I could find in the documentation, the RAM can't be upgraded. Additionally, while I *think* the SSD should be upgradeable I can't confirm because the screws on the bottom aren't Phillips, so I can't get it open to check (as I recently misplaced my screwdriver set). Other than that, I absolutely love this thing. It's my new art laptop. Maybe don't go the base model, but this is a very good laptop and I would definitely recommend it.

Just picked this up today at local BB after ordering online for $499. Beautiful looking, constructed and spec laptop but there seems to be an issue with the screen when I went to test MS Word; any viewing angle other than looking down at it (e.g., if I looked at it eye level straight on) showed reddish colored swirls on what should otherwise be akin to a blank piece of paper, as well as a significant descrease in screen quality akin to what would be expected to occur with a TFT screen, and started to give me a headache. A prior review noted screen issues when in MS Word and used a partial fix of turning the Word doc background dark grey and hoping ASUS would fix this issue if due to software/driver. Although I paid only a sale price $500 new for a MSRP of $800, and while I suspect this had to be attributable to the OLED screen (which was an incidental factor in my decision to buy this product), I am not going to tolerate such a basic flaw in a product when it comes to "use-ability" for a notebook's fundamental purpose of word processing. I suspect this is a known flaw to Best Buy and ASUS, which is why Best Buy was/is selling this very recently released high spec product (spring 2023) at 37% off MSRP (it seems this is a "made for" Best Buy model). Other reviewers have wondered why so much machine for the sale price . . . I suspect there are known significant flaws that have become apparent. SMH. Thanks Best Buy and ASUS for wasting my time and credit. Going to return it.

Owning a larger gaming ASUS laptop, I had high expectations for this little guy. So far, I am not disappointed. I was hoping for a couple features and I am pleasantly surprised. The initial bootup took some time and I am not sure if it was because it was the initial boot or the new EVO processor just doesn't keep up (more on this later). After the boot up, the signing in process and getting started took the usual 15 minutes or so but the facial recognition to unlock was something I am happy to see and was hoping for! The screen is amazing and the touch response is snappy and accurate. Customizing your settings to your preferences is straight forward if you have any experience with the latest Windows. The processor seems to keep up now that initial boot up is done and I have changed the settings for best performance. On balanced, I noticed that it would take a few extra seconds to come out of sleep mode or to boot up. Basic games run flawlessly but this laptop would benefit from an extra 8GB or RAM. The battery life is crazy good, ~7-8 hours per charge. WIFI speeds are amazing as it comes with an INTEL 211 WIFI 6E. Keyboard layout is normal, but, due to me coming from a 17" screen I keep misplacing my hands when starting a new session. Mouse pad is responsive and snappy, works well. I am happy to see that charging is done through USB-C, which it has 2 ports. Another little issue I have is it will not pair with my Note 20 Ultra even though my other ASUS it pairs no problem. I will have to dig into that more, but it was no issue as I just connected through USB-C and moved about 1000 songs from my phone to the laptop (took about 10 minutes). The sound is really good for a small laptop. The HK speakers and sound fire out the front sides and sound even better if there is something next to the laptop to reflect the sound upward. I noticed this when I placed my phone down while playing music. Sounded fuller and louder. PS, this gets pretty loud too. Packing was nice, basic and so far the laptop is doing good on resisting fingerprints. This is a nice laptop. I will be testing it more on an airplane this weekend! Nice job, ASUS!
