I was hoping for a little more in terms of power. It freezes when I use two streaming up; weird The additional screen is nice but not intuitive

I thought the trackpad was in the way more than a cool feature. I ended up returning my machine and got another that didn't have the video trackpad. It was a cool gimick for 10 minutes, but didn't work with most other tools and didn't end up being useful for me. It just didn't meet my needs.

I've had this for just over three years and have really liked it though it's getting to be time for a replacement. pros: screen quality and size, light weight, comfortable keyboard, i like having the number pad and use it pretty regularly, have found the power and storage more than adequate. mil-spec rated and has held up despite being dropped a couple of times. cons: had an issue with the camera early on which was fixed under warranty, but dealing with the warranty department was difficult. the touchscreen went wonky after ~2 years and i had to disable it. the battery life is going now. i use the screenpad sometimes when docked but haven't found it to be a necessary feature. i also no longer use it flipped or in tent mode since the touchscreen stopped working, but that was also a nice-to-have more than a necessity. most often used for: web, word processing, photo editing

Would have been better with a little bit newer graphics card

Good thing the laptop is still working. $1200 for an open box and not get the full manufacturer warranty. I didn't have a problem with any other product purchased from BEST BUY or other stores before. BE WARNED!!!!! If you buy an open box ASUS laptop you will only get a 90 day warranty since ASUS considers the laptop used and will not give you the complete warranty. I wish I knew this before I purchased the laptop. I never would have bought it. I feel like I need to tell the world about this issue with ASUS. There should be a warning on the open box page for ASUS products.

I bought this Asus laptop to send to a friend in Romania. I did not open the box before I sent it by Fedex to Romania. When he opened the box, the computer light would not come on. I asked the Best Buy salesman if there would be a warranty on the computer and he said yes that there is a one year manufacturer’s warranty. The Asus people in Romania said that the warranty is only good in the Country of purchase. What good is a manufacturer’s warranty if it is not world wide. Not only did I spend $1300 on the laptop and $900 to ship it, it is not working now and has to be repaired at an additional cost. I am not at all happy.

I have only had the Zenbook for a short time but my initial impressions are very negative. The fan comes on when the computer starts. The fan is so loud that it makes concetrating very difficult. This can't be intended by Asus. I have owned and used Dell, Apple and Lenovo laptops, the Asus laptop is orders of magnitude louder. The Zenbook is supposed to have a backlit keyboard. Pressing FUNCT+F4 is supposed to increase the backlighting intensity. The backlit keyboard feature is not working. After owning the Zenbook for a short time it appears that I got a damaged Zenbook.

THe rating is due to BEST BUY SERVICE but service should always be part of the product. The computer was great. Best BUY SERVICE WAS NOT. I had an accident with the computer, I took it to best buy two visits to diagnose. Then I took it back 2 times. Each quote was greater than the one before. I really wanted this computer so I offered to pay it. They took approx 2 weeks and then they informed me they could not get the parts. How can they not get the parts? This is a top of the line computer. Awesome computer. HORRID SERVICE

I have to return my first order due to dead pixel on the screen. Then I got an exchange for the returned product and the new laptop got even more dead pixels on its 4K screen. Very disappointed in this product thus far. In addition, I believe BestBuy may have sent me an open-box exchange because the inside plastic wrapping looks dirty and unlike the original untouched factory wrapping. This entire return and exchange experience is wasting a lot of my time.

The machine is totally unstable and unpredictable while running Windows 10. It fails to shut down properly requiring the power button to be used repeatedly. MS Outlook fails to run smoothly and user settings do no always "take." CCleaner will not operate automatically despite the settings. Internet Explorer / Edge must be removed in order to stop it from interferring with other browsers as well as collecting.

Not really sure vwhat I expected but the screen seemed poor and the touch screen pad seemed totally useless

Has a lot of pros, the cons are significant. HORRIBLE battery life, with performance set to the middle, maybe 3 hours if you're lucky. The HDMI port is very hard to get a cable in, might just be the unit i received. The design of the numeric keypad is different, the 0 is where the decimal should be, kind of awkward to type. Otherwise from that, the screen is gorgeous, the build quality feels amazing, it is a bit heavier than i thought it would be but nothing crazy. the touchpad feature is cool and i do like the option to turn if off if you wish. Solid performance for an ultrabook laptop, love the 1 tb SSD

it broke after 13 months. Motherboard. I barely used this laptop and the motherboard died. 1200 tosses in the trash. Contacted them and need to pau 85 dollars just to have it evaluated by asus. Ripp off

Been using Apple and Dell. Never had issues related to build quality. Asus was disappointing after such a high amount purchase. Had to sent my laptop for repair after few months.Never Asus again.

I'm a programmer and was drawn to the screen pad function on this device. I'm able to put spreadsheets, charts and documents on the screenpad and program on the main display which drastically cuts time. The 4k, 1TB Octane, short keystroke and the ability to use as a tablet with 360 hinges are all fantastic. There's one main problem and I knew this when buying it but why a GTX 1050?? This computer is loaded everywhere else, I just wish they would of put a 1060 in. I would of paid an extra 200-300 for that feature. That's my only complaint, other than that everything else is really solid.

If you are looking for a laptop that will be a great all around rig this is your laptop. You get more than enough of hardware and great sturdy build quality. My wife and I have built two gaming computers but as I just started college and vlogging up I wanted something to do portable work with. This computer does that! I am able to run adobe premiere pro to do my less intensive vlog edits. Technically it will run games but I will never use this laptop for that. And any school work is done with ease.Speakers are sufficient for anyone who isnt demanding. I have good speakers around the house if I want to listen to higher quality music. This laptop is not for users who are wanting very specific needs. If you are wanting a true gaming laptop there are more powerful rigs that will get you better fps with the sacrifice of screen quality and cpu. If you are wanting to do strong edits on after effects or premiere pro, this just won't be enough but if you are doing that kind of thing you will already know that. One thing is alot of these come with the screenpad upside down. I got mine open box for 450 off and I think it was because of this but if you go into asus's updates for the computer there is a bios update that will fix this and it'll work flawlessly.

The best laptop ever i use it until now and no problems

I have had multiple laptops, trying to fulfill the need for portability and power. I use this machine for work and for gaming, mostly mmorpg titles such as ESO and Warcraft. This is the first machine that handles both sides without compromise. I do coding and design work, and even when gaming my frame rates are at 60 consistently for vsync with thermals around 70 c. They knocked it out of the park with this machine. The two in one function is an added bonus, and the color reproduction is spot on. No issues on screen response or slow downs. Never been happier with a truly portable workhorse before, I have even owned the razer 15 and this gives you a lot more bang for the buck with less weight and better portability.

I will not be buying another Asus in the future. These machines are fast and powerful, but their batteries refuse to last longer than two years. Two years after purchase, I have two hours of battery life while unplugged, which is an advantage for the portability of a laptop. I also have had to turn off the touch screen because it thinks I am touching it all the time.
