Customers praise the ZenWiFi AX Wireless-AX system for its ease of use, extensive coverage, and strong signal, resulting in improved performance throughout their homes. Many appreciate the system's compact size and relatively quick setup. However, some users experienced connectivity issues requiring frequent restarts, and a few found the app and firmware updates problematic. The price point is also frequently cited as a positive aspect.

Our son recommended these. I bought A very good router and it could not handle all of the Wi-Fi in my home we are almost all wi-fi. Our son purchased these for his home and had really good reviews on them so we purchased them for our home. Wishes we would’ve known about this before I bought the router that I wasted almost $300 on. This is the way to go easy to setup.

Has allowed me reliable Wifi connections throughout the house, and out in the backyard, too. I now have my phone doing calls via Wifi and the dropped calls have ceased (cell towers not so good here) and call quality improved. I don't even think about Wifi connections - this has been working well, consistently, since I installed it just over a month ago. Easy install, too.

A previous Asus user with a mesh network based on AC68u units, this was a worthwhile upgrade. Wireless signal inside and outside the home was greatly boosted. BUT.... be warned that the early units come with a pre-release bios that I highly recommend you update via the web interface to the latest release (they are 2 versions later as of this review). Make sure that all of the satellite mesh units are the same bios version as the main unit (again via the web interface). Once updated, you should be in pretty good shape. Nice that you can choose to break apart the 2.4 GHZ and 5 GHZ bands - this is helpful for many 'smart hubs' and items as many tend not to play well with a combined 2.4/5 ghz band. Also recommend trying out the asus web aoo - many features of the web interface can be found there - but not all.

Initial setup was easy, looks nice and generally ASUS is an amazing brand. However it doesn't stay connected to the nodes and after 3 days I could no longer reconnect them all regardless of my attempts to reset. Setup guide is not always helpful as the led signal is blue blinks that are not on the site or in the guide. Returning for Google Nest as I initially planned to buy

      Dear Valued Customer,

I'm truly sorry to hear that it does not stay connected to your nodes, this must be frustrating. What you've experienced was not intentional and this was a random case. If you still have the unit in your position, please use the Asus Router App, go to "Settings" > "System Settings" > "Feedback" > and send a Feedback mail to us. We are here to help you and all others with these issues, as our customer loyalty department dedicated to bringing a resolution to all issues related to our products.

      Thank you for choosing ASUS!

Great product, setup was a breeze and the phone application is great for home monitoring. App is fast while on my wifi however with remote monitoring off the wifi it can be slow but not unusable. Great family control for wifi time and limits. Good diagnostic features. 3rd party apps cause game interruption on roblox and fortnite so I turned them off. Also these are WiFi 6!

Awesome product. I tried Linksys and wasnt satisfied with my speeds. I'm glad I saw these when I went back to return the Linksys system. Our internet plan is 700mbps from Comcast, with the xFi Gateway on the first floor. On my second floor, my WiFi speeds with the ASUS range around 170-240mbps. With the Linksys, it would range around 80-150mbps. The gaming PC, that's also on the second floor, is connected via Ethernet to a node and gets a consistent 450-470mbps connection. On the first floor, devices connected to the parent node are getting WiFi speeds that range in 400-450mbps. I am very happy with this purchase and highly recommend it. Also, the iOS app and web app allow you to customise your network. The Linksys iOS app does have a much nicer and polished UI than the ASUS app. However, it lacks many network controls & settings which ASUS provides. Some that come to mind are: 1. Ability to force a device to join a specific node (called binding); 2. Ability to force a modern device to always connect via its 5GHz band and not its 2GHz band and vice-versa; 3. Ability to schedule weekly node restarts. 4. Ability to turn off LED lights on specific nodes (This is great if you're like me and don't like having PC accessories' LED lights being on in your room when you are trying to sleep).

We spoke with the BB representative and was told this was very easy to set up... it was, but my current modem doesn't 'play well with others'. I had to get a professional in here to help with reconfiguring things like my printer. It wasn't fun for a couple of days, but my son made it work better. If you have a Verizon FIOS router/modem, it's a tricky set up.

Great mesh performance for the average home

I prefer Asus routers and was ecstatic to suddenly find an affordable mesh system with entirely reasonable WiFi 6 specs. It entirely covers our medium-sized home despite plaster walls, although I did need to fiddle with placement. Two or three simultaneous video conferences are stable even with our 50 Mbps connection. Wireless backhaul seems stable enough. The small form factor and the white finish helps it disappear into the background. In all, a significant improvement in quality-of-life over a single powerful router for an average home. The app is ok, although I'm annoyed that the settings summary does not allow you to tap and edit settings. You have to then search through the individual settings pages to make changes. The search function is also pretty bad. I was pleasantly surprised about the level of control - I honestly expected less configurability. Great to see. In all, these are minor inconveniences. The initial setup worked great - another hour to tweak the low-level settings and you're done.

Easy set up even for the technically challenged. I like the flexibility to have separate mesh devices spread throughout the house in order to increase bandwidth as well the ability to prioritize devices. The app is super easy to manage.

I've had this about four months and it has great power throughout the house. It actually could have covered the house with just the base unit but performance that way would have been slower. Two satellites put full ISP bandwidth everywhere. There has been no problem of any kind with roaming devices, everything works at full power. Multiple guest networks and multiple house networks are supported. Best of all, ASUS respects your privacy and unlike virtually every other router manufacturer they do not collect and sell extensive network and device information from your house to other marketers to target you. If I ever need to extend my network to additional buildings, like an extra garage or greenhouse, I will absolutely be looking to ASUS to do the job. Network configuration is automatic and will reconfigure for any changes.

The 3 "nods" work well inside an elongated two story 3800 sq. ft. area. It would have to be believed that five total "nods" would be better for areas that are oddly shaped. Those with the normal shaped 3000 sq. fr. area (or less) should have an excellent experience. The internet power has held steady in one month of usage. There has only been one true issue with internet connection which was with a recreational tech device. The true issue comes with the 3 "nods" having to be placed correctly/startegically throughout the 3800 sq. ft. area to provide optimal usage--there is a deadspot in the middle sections as where the 3 "nods" are placed around outter edges of the area.

Debated between this system and other similar options. Very happy with my choice. Easy to set up and covers my entire house and more with a strong WiFi signal. Mesh is the way to go. Also like that this is more of a standard router system rather than one pushing and based upon other smartphone devices that gather your data.
