Here's the deal: expensive HDMI cables offer no difference in picture quality over cheap HDMI cables. Most of you reading this only need a few feet of HDMI cabling to run from your Blu-ray player and cable/satellite box to your TV. Over these short distances, even the cheapest HDMI cables are going to work. And if they work, as you've read, it means you're getting perfect image and sound. Even over long runs, most cheap cables can do the job just fine. So when the salesman tries to up-sell you on $300 HDMI cables that are the "only way to make your new 240 Hz TV work," politely tell him he is incorrect and to move on with the sale. Or let me put it another way, if you're paying more than $5 for a two-meter HDMI cable, you're overpaying. [paraphrased from an excellent article written by Geoff Morrison]

heard my vcr just needed a diaelectric bias compatible cable because the flux capacitor was disrupting my bus speeds. since this cable was the only solution i bought two just in case. soon i installed this my vcr started eating tapes. what a shame. still looks nice though

I was surprised at the poor quality of the connectors. However this did not really affect me because I ended up cutting them off anyways. What did I do with the cable you may ask? I wired it to the distributor on my 68 Nova an easily got another 200 horses out of that bad boy. Now I did have to give in one star, not because of the poor connectors but, because it caused me to go through 6 sets of tires on the Nova. This cable was definetly overkill for my application which the packaging failed to warn me about. More technical details on the package would have been nice and saved on the return shipping cost.
