On my part, it doesn't, because I need a new 4K compatible receiver. I haven't even heard of 4K hdmi cords before today. But oh well.

Cool idea that it is one directional and the technology behind it. Read on CNET that most HDMI cables are the same and you don't need the really expensive ones, but I don't know. This one works great.

I tried to verify the improvement in performance by using regular HDMI cable and then this one. There was a definite improvement in sound quality from my sound bar.
