Wanted to learn about home automation and did a lot of research with others that had competing products (Alexa, etc) Decided on Google Home. Right now just have the front door and the front entry light setup but will do more as time and money allow. Glad I chose what I did.

The lock works as advertised, the only issue I hade was setting it up using my android phone it would not work. Oncce I used my wife's Iphone 10. It worked and it also started working on my Android phone.

Making sure that your lock is compatible with the smart lock is key! I figured it worked with all locks and ended up having some frustration finding the correct one. However, once it was installed it’s a great product.

I’ve owned this for over a year and it stopped working. One of the internal gear broke and when I contacted August support, they knew exactly what had broken and stated that this is a very common and recurring problem. But they do not repair only replace locks. Which means if your out of the 1 year warranty, your out of $$$. Expected a lot more from this company and for a product at this price.

Great smart lock, have had no issues with installing or with it working. When batteries run low it notifies with time and easy to replace. Plus I love that I was able to use my same front door lock.

The August smart lock works as described. It gives me peace of mind to know that the door locks once I leave my home. I get a confirmation on my phone when it locks and it senses my return and unlocks itself. Very handy, especially when carrying packages.

Installation was very simple and took roughly 10 minutes. Once in a while the lock disappears from the network and is unavailable for 5-10 minutes. Otherwise it works well and has proven to be very handy.

I needed a lock to automatically lock the door if it hasn't been locked in the last 30 minutes. It never misses a beat and has been good quality. Very dependable!

It works fine, but the build of the knob feels hollow and cheap. So far, it hasn’t caused a problem, just wish it was better for the price.

The only problem it doesn't automatically unlock. Sometimes it does but most of the time it does not. I recommend to buy the keypad also. Bought it on sale during the Christmas season.

I like that the device does not change the exterior facing portion of the lock so no one on the outside knows it's inside and you don't have to rekey locks. Battery life is decent. Integration to Google Home is glorious.

Take your time and set it up. Some install harder than others. Always make sure you have good wifi (highly recommend mesh system). August also has great support too. Works great and I'm happy.

Have recently started using it and so far did not face any issue except once when somehow WiFi was not connecting and have to try few times but did work finally.

I’ve been using this smart lock with my HomeKit Smart Home and it’s been working fenomenal, even with internet interruptions, it connects to my iPhone through Bluetooth!

Worked great for a few weeks until the android app was updated. Has been terrible since. Have to stand next to door refreshing the app for minutes until it finally connects using BT. The auto unlock feature works maybe 15% of the time. Not a wifi issue. I have multiple Ubiquiti APs both inside and outside and a 500mbps fiber connection.

With a good WiFi single this unit works perfect. I have all of the extras including the pin pad and it has not failed once. It’s quick to lock and unlock, I have not used my keys since I installed this.

I love this lock. It knows when I am in front of my door, so whenever I have my hands full I don’t have to dig for my keys because it locks and unlocks automatically. Also great if I forget to lock my door.

I had the first generation August lock and it lasted a long time. This new version is much better! The lock responds faster and has a better motor. I like the door open/ close notifications.

Didn't get my lock. So I had to return it. But I loved all the options lock and unlock the door when I was at home

August - Smart Lock Pro + Connect - Silver: Everything works awesome, except the Connect doesn't work. I need to f/u with that; just haven't had the time to do so.
