With that said, the unit was having connectivity issues with the key pad. I couldn't get it to sync, and neither could the support rep from August. Ultimately, I had to return the product.

My 3rd gen connects in seconds and was a lot cheaper. yes the 4th gen is smaller but set up was annoying and it often times takes multiple tries to connect to phone. keypad is also a joke. doesnt work when it gets to a certain temperature outside. i just use my phone/watch anyway.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. The HomeKit integration with our lock is via Bluetooth. If you wish to use this integration remotely you would require an Apple bridge to be set up within Bluetooth range of the lock. Let us know if you have questions.

I really like that the entire install is inside, so the exterior appearance of your door doesn't change. The keypad is smaller than it looks but works fine, and the batteries last forever. The app allows for auto-lock after a couple of minutes, and my favorite feature is that it senses when you (and your phone) arrive home, and unlocks the door for you (if you want). It notifies you of this when it happens. I've had to call tech support twice, and they answered on a Sunday afternoon without a hold and were very helpful. Highly recommended.

NOT the case, best buy sale it with the “Yale” keypad. Not to mention the store associate gave a crappy attitude when i explained her this. Overall the sofetware, user friendly, and installation only took me 10 Minutes!!!! Id recommend to doanwload the app before installation and youll get step by step installation instructions that are super helpful.

Perfect for rental, you are hookiing in to the existing dead bolt. Mine needed a little filing to the door jamb to get it to calibrate. Since then has worked flawlessly
