This is the best BB-8 out there now. The mechanics of this thing is awesome. I would of liked this a bit more if it was larger, then again would I have room for something that big to roll around the house. Only Con would be that this is pretty pricy at $150 for a toy.

This is basically a remote-controlled car in the shape of the BB-8 with the sphero shape and the head moving as it rolls (as in the movie). The trouble is that the controls are not very responsive, the head pops off whenever it hits a wall, the wheels on the head pick up pet fur and lint and must be cleaned a lot, the sound effects come from the cellphone and not the droid, so far the firmware updates have only added expressive moves and all of them look about the same. After an hour of play you have done with it all that it can possibly do. Got as a gift and would hurt feelings to return otherwise it would definitely be returned. For a young kid who loves Star Wars this would be good although ridiculously expensive. The Force is not with this one.

Sphero really did a number on this one... the technology that are "compressed" into this lil' toy is amazing! it rolls so amazingly sweet and the functionality on it all is amazing. too bad you cannot share the hologram messaging to other BB-8 owners.... overall i love it... great Job Sphero Team!

I was a bit hesitant at first to get this, but after seeing the reviews and watching a few videos, I decided to go for it. I was not disappointed. This has got to be one of the hottest new toys of this year and I would highly recommend this to any Star Wars fans out there! It's about 4 inches tall and lasts for about an hour on a charge. The head is magnetic so it will always stay on the top when the lower ball part rolls. My only concern are the two small antennas on the top of the head, which could possibly break if you try to roll it under something with low clearance at a fast speed. But other than that, I highly recommend getting this!

I bought this the day it came out and have not stopped using it since! My 3 year old daughter and 16-month old son love playing with it and chasing it around the house! Great purchase for die-hard Star Wars fans as well as newcomers! Controls are fantastic and this is easy to use.

I am a Star Wars fan, and when I saw that they were coming out with BB-8, I knew I just had to have it!! Takes a little practice to get him going where you want him to go, but after that, he's GREAT!!! Just be careful not to run into things....his head will pop off!! LOL

Bought this for my 2yo goddaughter and her 5yo brother. She was able to play with it on her own (using the app... kids these days), but got the most joy out of it playing together with her older brother. It may look small to adults, but this thing was a huge hit.

This is a wounderful ADULT toy for the kid in any Star Wars lover. In my opinion BB-8 isn't for most children. I say most because many may tire or say they're bored with him, he doesn't transform etc... To me he brings back the great memories and happyness of being the kid that loved all the past Star Wars episodes. In order to enjoy a character toy, like BB-8, in the 70's and 80's you would have to spend much much more than the $150. I want to thank the folks at Sphero for their imagination and concept in creating a new Droid for the Star Wars episodes and the toy i enjoy very much.

This is a great Star Wars novelty item, looks great on a desk and is a ton of fun to play with!

This is a great toy with a great app. So glad I purchased this for my son. He has had so much fun playing with this little guy.

Got this when it was first released. Works great but takes a while to get a hang of the controls. The magnetic head pops off sometimes especially if you run into something with a little bit of force/speed. Our puppy didn't know what to think of it at first so we had fun with that. Rechargeable battery works great too.

Not a bad product but don't expect it to do anything but roll around. It has no sensors of any type and the only noise it makes comes from the app. Very nice as long as you can deal with the possible buyers remorse.

Fun for the kids, they are using the iPad to control BB-8 and really like it, the only downfall is that it doesn't move to well on carpet. Wood floors are really good and they like all the add-ins the app supplies and really like watching the movie with BB-8, he talks along with the movie.

Awesome little droid. A little hard to control at first, but getting used to it.

My son could not wait for this product!! He is amazed at how easy it is to use.

In terms of detail, it very much looks like BB-8 from the movies but its a very expensive piece of remote control toy. Updates are planned for this once the movie gets closer to release.

Sphero's BB-8 looks great, feels solid, and is really responsive. It's a lot of fun to play around with, the app is sleek and easy to use, and even when it's just charging, it looks great in the stand. Probably not for super young children, especially since it's on the pricey side, but for almost everyone, Sphero's BB-8 is pretty awesome.

BB-8 is a fun little droid to have rolling across the kitchen floor. The app is top notch, and on the iPhone there are no connectivity issues. In addition to being cute, there are some powerful apps such as tickle that allow you to tinker with programming functions for BB-8. Check it out, you won't be disappointed.

I was going to sell my BB-8 on eBay, but I'm glad I didn't. This is a fun little robot. Pretty easy to control and really fun to watch him on auto mode. I did have to reset my phone to get it to connect.. Although not perfect I really enjoy BB-8 :)
