Before purchasing be sure to check that the required app is compatible with any phones you will be running it on. If you like to give the kids your old hand-me-down phone, you may end up having to load the app on your newer phone and lend it to them when they want to play.

Kids like This
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sphero makes quality products. Period. I work with kids (6-16) and we have several Sphero products. They like this character and all of the personality that comes with him via the BB-8 app. Little ones can use him as a "remote control" drive toy while older one can Code him with block coding on the app. My issue is that he's sluggish and doesn't respond with the lightning speed of the Sprk or the Ollie.

Great gift for my 6 year old

Good to start great with other apps
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.My 7 yo son saved up his money to buy this for himself bedause he loves BB-8. I encouraged it because I want him to learn robotics and coding. The app from the manufacturer is limited in what you can do with BB-8 but with a couple of 2nd party apps you can really expand the programming capabilities of this little guy. My son is now learning coding using one of the visual apps and we're both happy about it! This is so much more than just a toy.
