Smaller than expected. Not much tech behind this item.

Bought this for my nephew & he got all excited when he opened it - the set was a bit challenging for him since he is only 8rs old but once I set it up for him - it didn’t take long for him to figure it out. The only thing was his anticipation to play with it when initially charging it.

Purchased for my nephew b-day in December. It's now February and he still plays with BB-8. He is still amazed to see this droid operate. He never saw anything like it before. He even consider it a friend. In a time when kids lose interest in playing with toys this one is still being played with. Great purchase!!!

I am a big one for different robots to use with students and just had to add this one to my collection. My students love it and it is a lot of fun. I have many different Spehero robots and this doesn't do as much as many of them but due to the IP it adds fun to the group.

This is a cool concept, but I assume your kids would get bored with it pretty quickly.

Now that price has dropped to sub 100 (even sub 50 in sale)- this is a fun toy for any fan of the movies. Does not work well on carpet, and head does not light up like R2D2. Sound also comes from the App- not the droid itself.

If you are a Star Wars fan, then you have to have this BB-8!!! Overall, it's a great droid to have since it actually responds to your commands. The only downside is that its head can and will come off somewhat easily :( Nevertheless, don't you let this nuisance stop you from owning one as it can be a lot of fun.

It's easy to use with the phone app. Doesn't do well on any kind of carpet. The hologram phone feature is kinda cool, but a little buggy. Overall, I like the toy. Be aware that the antennas are very fragile and easily break if you run into things pretty hard. It's an expensive novelty, but it's a cool little toy.

There are three modes that BB-8 can operate with. The mode I have used the least is the hologram projection. You record a message and using augmented reality (point your phone at BB-8 and it appears to project your message on the screen like R2 in past movies) which is a cool.

This is the droid you were looking for...to play with in a small area. Rolls well and response is good at close range but becomes intermittent after a few feet. Sounds from BB-8 match great with the movie and moves fairly easily on carpet as well as tile.

Bought this as a gift for my kids, but secretly myself as well. It's really fun to play with the kids love it, keeps them occupied. The setup is fairly simple it can be up and ready to go in about 4 minutes or so. Anyone that is thinking about purchasing this I'd say go for it.

This is the droid you are looking for! Haha (I couldn’t help it). It’s awesome and when you pair it with the force band, it is amazing! You need a phone/tablet/iPod to operate it, but once you pair it with the force band, you could let the kids master it on their own. Love it!

This was a have to have for my son, and he could only use it with a cell phone as his kindle fire would not work with it. This limited his use, and it doesn't really do much, it rolls around which is cool, but the kids tire of it a little too quickly.

This little guy is such an amazing little android. It actually plays and connects well. The only downfall is that after a couple minutes of play, you just leave it and forget about it. It’s great for kids that actually know how to use an app but adults will easily get bored.

We are enjoying this little character since we are Star |Wars fans. The droid works with cell phone apps but we chose to get the wrist enabled device to control it at an extra cost. We have added r2d2 as well. If you are a fan, you should enjoy this "toy". Got him on sale.

I was under the impression it would be more interactive. It's only operable through the phone app. For me that's a minus.

We love Sphero products (my wife and I are both teachers) because they require basic coding to control them. My sons love them because they are a blast. BB-8 is a little tricky to control, but my kids love playing with him anyway, and the Black Friday price made it a steal!

Not what I thought it would have been but it's cool if you're into Star Wars

In lieu of another drone flying around the house, we bought our 13 year old the BB-8 Sphero and he loves it. While his older brother is building robots, he just has fun chasing us all around with BB-8. He does want the arm band that can be bought separately or as a pair...May the Force be with You!

The Sphero BB8 is not nearly as much fun as it looks. The Droid is well made, and the app is pretty neat. Controlling the Droid is difficult, and it is not very responsive. My 10 year old was disappointed, and ultimately we returned BB8.
