||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a Netgear 300N which worked without problem, but added smart TV on a different floor, which seemed to lag, so decided before upping the internet speed with the dreaded Time Warner, I would try a new higher capacity router. Moved the modem and router upstairs so all works well there, though connection is weak downstairs.

Moving your modem and your router upstairs would most likely decrease the signal strength of your Wi-Fi downstairs due to the distance and the possible interference (floorings, thick walls, metal objects, etc.) However, we can try changing the channel of your router to boost up the connection. Wi-Fi was poor

It had become non-password protected for some reason. It still had a very good Wi-Fi signal. This Belkin router had a very poor Wi-Fi signal. I returned the Belkin router and bought an ASUS AC1900 Router and it has a very good Wi-Fi signal and you can log into it very easily and make changes or adjustments to its settings. I had to spend a $100.00 more; but, it has been worth it, so far.

Router worked great when internet connection (from modem) was stable ..... When internet began to cut out periodically , this router experienced extreme failure (requiring multiple factory reset/restores).

Servers have often stopped responding. I have diagnosed, however, that I have a good amount of interference on my LAN. The Windows and Android devices interfere with the Apple devices and vice versa. I also have interference from nearby LANs. I have eight to ten devices regularly connected to my LAN, and all but one are connected wirelessly. I don't understand why devices on the 2.4 GHz band interfere with devices on the 5 GHz band. This router is faster than my old N300 router, but the difference in speed isn't significantly noticeable.
