    Bad internet speed

    Since I first installed the router, internet speed dropped significantly. Connecting the computer directly to the modem measures 100Mbs. WiFi speed (5Ghz) is averaging 5 Mbs, many times under 1Mbs. I can't get in contact with BestBuy to see if there is any solution to my problem, so I will return it. Not recommended.

      Once the Belkin router is set up, it should be able to deliver up to 2.8x faster physical data rate. But, you can try to change the wireless channel on the router's Wi-Fi settings for isolation and, make sure that its firmware is updated.

    On projects about 20 feet outside my home

    This unit does not project through my brick house. Salesman talk me I could easily go through brick and project about 300 feet. It sometimes will go about 20 feet that's it.

      Thank you for sharing your feedback on the Belkin AC1200. Physical obstructions, like thick walls, could depreciate the router's wireless connection. We recommend that you relocate the router to an elevated position and within line of sight of the wireless clients. Upgrading the router's firmware and adjusting the router's wireless channel will also help improve the connection.

    It worked for our needs, but there are better products out there for less money. It was not a plug and play setup. Needed Tech Support. Otherwise it seems to do the job.

    Poor range

    My house is less than 50 feet long. The router range does not get to the back of my house. My neighbors wireless signal is stronger and twice as far away.

      Hi WirelessRookie,

      Thank you for sharing us your experience with your Belkin Router. Here are the possible solutions that you may do:

      * Place your router as high off the ground as possible, leave a distance of two feet between the router antenna tips, ceiling, and wall.
      * Keep the router away from large metal objects, areas where there may be a large concentration of water (fish tanks, bathrooms), and any electrical equipment including television sets, microwaves, radios, etc.
      *Change the wireless channel on your router to avoid interference. The recommended channels for the 2.4 GHz network are 1, 6, and 11 since they are considered non-overlapping channels. For the 5 GHz network, channels 36, 40, 44 and 48 are recommended to less likely suffer interference.

      If the internet connection remains unstable after performing the above steps, you may need to upgrade your router’s firmware.

    Website Sucks

    Once the connection connected it was good. But the website to troubleshoot SUCKS! The connection portal SUCKS! Stick with Apple and/or NETGEAR!

    Unfortunately, I got a defective router. Calling customer service was a nightmare. It took 4 calls to customer service before they decided to replace. I am still waiting for the replacement. The customer service people do not speak English very well so you have to really listen to understand what they say. The whole ordeal was/is a nightmare

    Horrible

    I had a Belkin router before for about 3 years and it worked great. When it finally died I bought this belkin router as a replacement since the other one had lasted a long time. This one lasted me 3 days before it failed on me and I took it back and got a replacement that only lasted me 5 days before it failed. This router was nothing but a complete disappointment. I would never recommend this product to anyone.

    Power cord barely long enough to reach the 5th shelf of my dresser to hide cord. When I pull out the cord to reset the router (which is almost a daily occurrence) on a product that is a month and half old it quite often pulls out of the power strip thus causing me to redo all my wiring. Likely to return within the warranty.

    I hated this product. I dont know where to begin. Range on the box said ultimate. My PS3 that was only 20 feet away couldn't pick up the signal. I had a PS4 streaming a movie off Vudu. When i would connect my phone, the PS4 would lose connection with this router. Seemed to have trouble multitasking. And it would drop at random as well. Took this piece back the next day. Belkins are garbage

    Don't get if you have mobile devices

    The wifi it gives off is terrible for phones, get only if you have an office. This is perfect for computers.

    Replaced an old router

    If i use the sleep mode for my computer over night it shuts down and I have to reset it, sometimes several times.
