Was already using a Belkin router before this one, and did decide to look around before selecting the same brand. I like the ease of setup with Belkin routers, and especially like the feature on this product to have guests separated from your network.

My Belkin F9K1113-BBY dual-band Wireless-AC+ Gigabit router was on sale, I needed a new router, and multi directional antennae seemed the way to go to meet my needs. It was easy to install, set up, and use. Very satisfied with this economic solution.

Bought this router after three years using a Belkin NB650. I wanted gigabit hardwire connections and the dual channels. The 2.4GHz channels runs like a champ the 5GHz channel is all but useless it could be this unit but the 5GHz channel on the older one was iffy also. Other than the lack of 5GHz channel for true AC+ capability it is a smart router that allows for full access management and configuration. I employ MAC ID filtering to further lock things down (i live in an apt bldg) along with the various encryption types and never a throughput issue. For best performance leave the 5GHz channel OFF just use the 2.4GHz channel in 20/40 mode.
I may return this and get a different brand router to compare but overall its a good router just not really a AC+ router

Hi, GEEOTTO,
Thank you for your continued trust with our products. This router is suitable for you needs and allow us to help you enjoy it more by resolving the challenges that you are experiencing with the 5GHz network to take advantage of the wireless AC feature. Do all of your devices detect it but won’t connect to it? If that’s the case, setting a static wireless channel may help as this might be due to wireless interference. If the devices can’t detect it, make sure that they support dual band connection. Please email us should you need help at [email protected] and indicate you name, phone number, location, and the subject or link to this post.

After upgrading my phone, I realized I needed to update my wireless router to accommodate the ability to have Internet access at home. For the price, it is very well worth it for home/cell phone use. I highly recommend it!

I hooked this up and everything was great for about 22 hours! My Wi-Fi stopped working. Still had internet on my hard wire computer which was wired through the router. I unhooked it out of frustration and should've taken it back. I believe now I'm past my return policy.

Hi, Antionique,
Your feedback is important to us, thank you for taking the time to share your experience. Losing the wireless internet connection is not acceptable for our routers. Allow us to help in resolving this challenge. We may need to reset the router and access setup page to reconfigure the wireless settings for the 2.4 GHz and 5 Ghz wireless networks. It is also recommended to update the firmware of your device to ensure stable internet connection for both wired and wireless devices. Should you need further assistance, get in touch with us at [email protected] along with your contact details and the link to this review for reference. We would be more than willing to lend a hand.
We look forward to assist you.

Purchased, easy install. However, drops and must rebooted constantly. Not enough strength and quality for 2 smartphones and Fire stick on different channels in a small apartment. Spend a little more, definitely get a different brand. BELKIN is not what once was. Speak with the nice, informative store associates. They know their products. I hoped too long for issues to resolve. I waited too long for refund/return. My fault.

Hi, Nmom,
There's a possibility that interference in your area is affecting the router's wireless performance. We can try setting a fixed channel on both networks to help improve its connectivity.
Please get in touch with us at [email protected] so that our Escalation Engineers can guide you through the process. Indicate your contact information and the link to this review for our reference.

Setup was easy, and the device gets the job done. Occasionally needs a hard boot as the range dips overtime, and I begin experiencing delays / disconnects. On the whole though, I still recommend the device as being overall reliable.

Hi,
Rebooting the router usually helps if you are experiencing unstable connection or delays on both wired and wired connections. If only the wireless devices are affected by this challenge, observe the connection after changing the wireless channel of the router. Please email us at [email protected] with your phone number and the link to this post should you need assistance.

Hi, Lambert,
We appreciate your time for rating and providing a review for this product. This is definitely not the experience that we would like you to have.
May we know the difficulties you have experienced with the router? Have you checked if its firmware is up to date? If this is both affecting both wired and wireless connections, check if you have a stable connection when wired to the modem. Rebooting also the router and modem may help to straighten this out.
We'd be glad to receive updates from you via email at [email protected]. In the message, indicate your full name, phone number, location, and the link to this post.

Does not work with VOIP
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
Bought this Belkin router to improve upon a 9-year old wireless-n router, but it was not better. Had to return it.
The Belkin router would not work with my VOIP adapter (a Cisco SPA122). No matter how closely followed VOIP provider's instructions, it never produced dial tone. Original router worked 1st time.
Also quite basic interface. Firewall is either off or on, nothing in between. Parental controls allow to bar a device from internet completely, but not to ban specific websites or keywords.
Would not accept 64 hex characters as wi-fi password, only passphrase, so I could not copy previous router's SSID & password - would have to assign new password to all devices in the home.
Final strange feature: The ports at the rear of the unit lie in a recess which is too narrow to fit fingers in to unplug ethernet connectors. You need pliers or a thin pencil to get cables out of the top two connectors (!!?).
Best Buy gets 5 stars for return policy. Buy online and return to store.

Good but flawed
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
On paper, this has great specs. However, I encountered a significant flaw. When set up, by default it becomes your DHCP and DNS server for your network. This is a good thing for almost all users. However, mine would not function as the DNS server. No device on my network could access the Internet because of no name resolution. I could work around it by running DNS on a home server. Might not be an option for others. Other than that (which could be a huge issue for someone), it works well. But unless you have a tech background and can handle such an issue, I wouldn't recommend it.

Hi Atc98092,
Thank you for sharing this information about the router. It is true that the router becomes a DHCP and DNS server for your network. The device is designed for small and home networks only and if your client devices are using automatic IP address and DNS servers from the router, they should be able to get online. It appears, though, that such is not the case in your network. Allow us to take a look into this matter. Email us your network details and the troubleshooting steps you've done to [email protected]. Please include your contact details, your Bestbuy reviewer name, and the link to this review for our reference.

Resetting issue

Router seems to go out once a week. Every Tuesday morning like clockwork. It is so frustrating. I have to unplug and plug it in to get it to work. It is just crazy. I blamed my cable company at first but they say it is the router updating. Reading other reviews I believe that is true. Not sure why this happens but it is truly becoming more frustrating each week.

Hi Don0104,
We truly understand how you feel and this is clearly not the behavior that your Belkin router should exhibit. Allow us to take this chance to have one of our Escalation Engineers check what's causing your router to regularly go out once a week. Please send us your contact details and the link to this post at [email protected] and we'll take it from there.

Belkin 1200 DB Router F9K1113BBY

This router is OK for a one floor house. Unsatisfactory due to housing style, and radio emission pattern. Whole rooms became slow & dead spots occurred, unexpected in a simple upgrade from its 600 DB kin. Replaced with the NETGEAR 1200 DB AC & is as better as a new world. Heating & cooling issues with the Belkin 1200DB. The par NETGEAR, much better & open variable antennae. Would still recommend the 600 DB Belkin. Bought for AC Dual band & worked well alone on that factor.

Optimizing the wireless settings on the router could help improve its performance. This can be done by setting fixed channels on both frequency bands. If you still have the unit and you need assistance with it, don’t hesitate to email us at [email protected]. We’re always here to help.

The Router had issues detecting IP address out of the box, so called Belkin and after almost 45 minutes we figure out. However the Wifi speed is NOT that good just a little bit better than my 5 year old router and not near to AC WiFi speed should be, also WiFi signals keeps changing. After looking into Firmware Belkin guy told me that the model I got its a first version of AC wifi router and because of that I am having issues with Wifi speed. I am returning this and getting a Netgear.

This is the worst router ever. The sales associate said its just like Netgear and Lynsky. Boy was he wrong and obviously not educated well on the product sold to me. the router constantly disconnects, can't connect my phone, laptop or TV. I had old routers that worked super and had really strong signal. I even purchased the more expensive one since it was said it has better range. Waste of my money, since i have to go buy a new reliable router. Word of advise DO NOT BUY THIS BRAND!!

Related Belkin Enhanced wireless with AC1200 following directions. It implies that all that is needed is to rename the new router with the old's existing name, set the sold password and everything is fine. I have had to reset every device in the house that accesses the router from printers, to cameras, to ereaders, etc. A waste of my time. Also even though Belkin says on its web site that chat is available 24x7 it is not. They really don't want to talk to anyone.

Unreliable connectivity; frequently drops WAN
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
- The setup is a little annoying. It seems that every change requires a router reboot that requires 1 minute until you can do the next task.
- It drops connectivity with my cable modem. Fixing this requires a power cycle of the modem, then another power cycle of the router.
I purchased this router to replace my Cisco E3000. The Cisco E3000 is running fine; I just wanted a new router. In 2+ years of using the Cisco I have never had to reboot my modem due to a wedged router/modem connection. The AC 1200 wedged three times in three hours requiring power cycling of both modem and router.
I removed the AC 1200 from my network and I am back to using the Cisco E3000. I even loaded dd-wrt on the Cisco and I am happy to report my network has been stable for more than 24 hrs.

I have got this router replaced 3 times and all of them have same issue, after about an hour the speed drops to the point of it being usable and needs to restarted or even sometimes a total firmware reload. Belkin tried to help but it was not useful at all. These routers are overpriced P.O.S. and should be avoided, save your money and something better.
