However, I found that unless I tighten down the thumbscrews almost to the breaking point, the pins don't seem to make connection. Also, this cannot be used like a "plug and play" USB device/adaptor. I have to do a full restart of my laptop before the adaptor's connected device can be reached. All in all, this (and similar HDMI/VGA adaptors, I suppose) are a clumsy workaround for newer laptops to connect with old monitors or projectors.

Audio didn't work

After a reboot of the Xbox the audio stopped working. Took it back and exchanged it for another and the same thing happened. I returned it and bought another online from Amazon for $9.99 and has been working flawlessly both audio and video. Would not recommend this product.

This adapter should still work properly for more than a month. To isolate this, make sure that it is properly plugged into the monitor as this could be due to a loose connection. Does not work with Mac Mini

If I would have been paying more attention, I would have gotten the Apple USB C to VGA adapter with works with the thunderbolt port. It was my own fault for trying to use this product. The 2 star rating was only because it didn't work the way I wanted it to work.
