This adapter really did not work all that great. Screen was in and out when using it. Switched to the apple made adapter and it worked perfectly.

It isn't working at all. No connection recognized between the monitor and the laptop.

Works for computer monitor support, will not play anything requiring content protection. I bought this to use with a projector, Roku will not display any video out after booting. If you're just using to adapt an old monitor to a computer, you're fine unless you want to watch movies on it. Basically, it's a useless expensive cable.

Purchased this HDMI to VGA adapter to use with my new HP laptop since it does not come with the old VGA port. Try the adapter with two different projectors and it does not work on either one of them. I will be returning it as soon as I get back from my business trip. Very disapointed.

Something in the conversion of the signal gets lost and the TV does not receive the signal through the HDMI. It's a great idea, think it needs to be powered for TV to recognize. That would defeat purpose of less cords

I use it to connect to a monitor, me and my team use that monitor for other laptops but with this connector I couldn't get the monitor to work properly. The image was off center of the screen and blurry. I suggest against this product.

The adapter was suggested for a monitor. The adapter paperwork claimed it was for projectors. Additional software needed to be downloaded to use this adapter. The correct adapter cable was finally located on our fourth return trip to the store.

I was planning to have a movie night outside with an older projector. Picked up this converter to connect HDMI out to my VGA only projector. Did not work at all with my Macbook or my Chromebook! Totally disappointed.

could not get any TV connection from the HDMI port. tried with multiple VGA ports on different computer types and HDMI connected to several different TVs.

It was frustrating. It didn't work in my TV. I have an wonderful 55 in LG TV but the gadget hasn't worked with it. I don't know why.

This did not work at all for me. I had to buy an adapter that used usb in order to covert the display so it would show up on my tv.

Did not work. Had to return. maybe it's just my specific unit.

I'm running a dual monitor set up (hdmi & vga) connections on 2 32" 1080p tvs with Windows 8.1. The hdmi to hdmi from pc to tv has really bad quality. Tv tries to overscan and has different color scaling which couldn't be compensated by changing settings. It basically inflates everything on screen. I bought this device to try and work around it. It works as intended (hdmi from pc to vga input on tv). It produces a good quality image. Only thing I've noticed is that the colors are not as crisp as going vga to vga. When you first connect it you may have to go into the "resolution settings" and click the change text and icon settings. Once those were changed everything appeared pretty much the same on both tvs. NOTE: This device requires a powered hmdi port as this does not contain a power adapter.

I had to carry it back, it was the wrong adapter. Would not work for what I needed it for.

I wasn't able to use the cord to adapt from hdmi to via. It just didn't work

Purchased it to hook up TV that I got to use as a security monitor. It didn't work! !!

It did not work, I am returning this item today for a different brand.
