Plugged it in and--nothing. Totally dead, no connection. Pulled out an older 25-foot cable I had and got an instant connection. I'll know to avoid 'Best Buy essentials' products from now on.

I hadn't used it or opened it. They refused to credit my account. I told the manager that Best Buy has lost my business and he replied that "Then I won't give you a store credit". To which I replied that I didn't want it, that I was taking the merchandise with me. This was the store on Butterfield Rd. in Downers Grove. Sad thing is that our business is shopping for a new computer, but we will not be purchasing it from Best Buy. We are done with Best Buy.
