Freaked me out. So Got this. Working after a year. (Didn't help get me over the irritation that I need to string this across my room though. Grrrr. Not a techy.

After running it under area rugs and testing it out for a couple of weeks, we were so satisfied with the quality and stability improvement of a hard-wired connection vs wi-fi network, that we ran the cable permanently through the basement.

Have since found the issue was the connector on the other side, NOT the cable. Cable is good value and IS CAT6. If you are only getting 100Mbps when using this cable, double check your connectors or attached device as the ethernet connection may only be a 100Mbps one.
