I signed up for My Best Buy Total because I wanted a membership that went beyond just discounts, and it’s been worth it. The plan covers a wide range of benefits, including 24/7 tech support, extended protection for most products, and savings on services like repairs and installations. I also like that it adds peace of mind with security features such as identity protection and antivirus software. The tech support has been especially valuable — whenever I run into setup issues or troubleshooting questions, I can reach out right away and get reliable help. The extended protection plan that comes with the membership is another highlight, since it covers accidental damage and breakdowns past the manufacturer’s warranty. On the downside, the membership is not cheap, and if you’re only buying the occasional gadget, you may not get the full value. But for anyone who shops at Best Buy regularly or relies heavily on tech, the savings and services can quickly outweigh the cost. Overall: A strong all-in-one membership that combines tech support, product protection, and member perks. Best for those who want extra coverage and use Best Buy often.

I like having the membership because it gives me many options to view on sale items first before the public. I also like that when I purchased an item that it gives longer time to review the item once purchased for a return. It’s just a good thing to have.

I was very satisfied with my Total Tech membership. I thought is was a good thing to have when problems arise. Now I am not so sure. I was able to bring my laptop in to the GEEK SQUAD and they would help or fix the problem. Now my new laptop has only a 2 year free service and then there is a monthly charge. The Total membership seem to go up and the services that were included now have to be paid for. On the reccomendation of recommending Total memebership there should be a MAYBE to check off.

We bought an Alienware laptop in August 2025 from Best Buy with $500 Geek Squad 4 years of service, in late November 2025 it had a critical video card failure. We took it to geek squad desk and they made me buy this so they could reinstall the OS after we told them it was hardware failure. But since it was still under warranty we didn’t want to crack open the laptop and fix it ourselves (well…my husband who’s an IT guru for a large bank and could fix it would have been the one to do it). Of course the OS reinstall didn’t fix it and the guy from Geek Squad called and left a vmail and said they’d reimburse this $194 because it ended up being hardware failure and they had to send it out to be repaired. But we were required to come back to the store prior. When we got there they wouldn’t reimburse it, and they had to send it out and said it’d be two weeks and we’re into week 3 and the laptop is still waiting for parts and our daughter is trying to run heavy duty CAD programs off of a el crappo old laptop from high school while we wait. And once it’s fixed they won’t send it to the Best Buy near her university, but they will send it to our home one…which means one of us will have to drive it out to her hundreds of miles away. Silver lining…get to see our college student. So…was this a good purchase. Not for us.

There are some real values with My Best Buy Total membership I have saved quite a lot of money over the life of my membership. As well as extended the warranty on many of my purchases including AppleCare included on all Apple products that were purchased. Which is an awesome feature.

Purchasing Total Tech was the best and smartest thing I've ever done. With Total Tech. I've had the Geek Squad set up or troubleshoot several of my computers which is included. The service has saved me many headaches as well as dollars. I am constantly amazed by all that is included. I highly recommend this service. It pays for itself over and over again.

This membership is a big piece of mind for all things bought at Best Buy. I never worry about what will happen to my products anymore because I know the awesome team at Beat Buy will be there to help. The discounts are great as well for members and there are a lot to choose from. Recommended this to so many people

I’m very happy with my Best Buy Total membership. I use it frequently throughout the year. It more than pays for itself since I’ve had to have two laptops wiped and reloaded. The techs are very knowledgeable and friendly. I also appreciate the two year warranty on my purchases at Best Buy

This membership truly is real value just the 60 days being returnable is worth it alone. As we all know, technology works so well the first month but sometimes gives up on you the second. This is saved me countless times and you get discounts and you get protection and you get everything such a great value honestly.

At first I was hesitant about the annual cost but thought better of it after considering the benefits or repair/ replacement, the embarrassment of purchasing a high tech item then stopping short of complete coverage beyond the manufactures warranty This program automatically insures all your tech purchases are covered Personally I’m a impulse shopper and a soft touch around the holidays So yes I know without any hesitation if the gifts or purchases don’t function properly I can return them or replace them without additional worry

Buying at Best Buy for many years I never used the geek squad before now. But finding myself being hacked on my computer I turned to the squad to help and they did. Then I find the added benefits of the yearly membership I wish I used this years ago.

I was on the fence about the cost but membership has already paid for itself. The discounts are great, the built-in protection and coverage on basically everything I buy is great. It saves me from worrying about extra warranties every time I’m at the register. If you shop at Best Buy even a few times a year, it’s definitely worth it.

Not only is the menbership a great value, but the courtesy experienced is a plus. I appreciate not being pressed into purchasing or renewing. Choice in levels of coverage and how i have used really works for me. I have encouraged friends to join.

As a parent with kids and all the Tech (tablets, tvs, games) and our kitchen appliances, things break. The price for a year covers everything in our house and replacing said item is simple and hassle free. A nice perk is the offers for free best buy credits. Definitely worth it!

We have been a Best Buy Total Member for many years. With the membership I have the tech support needed when our computer(s) needed more than I was able to do on my own. The Geek Squad is knowledgeable and can help you whether you are a novice or fairly skilled in your computer abilities.

It has been a great thing for me. It helps me get things fast when need if i have problem with one of my electronics or brake a screen protect and with kids I've had to replace several screen protectors for free so its sved me money.

I’ve had this protection for a couple of years. I was thinking about dropping it until… I had printer and TV go out in short order. Best Buy was fantastic with the returns. And, because of model years, I got an upgrade for $10 price difference!

Glad i got this total tech. You get 60 days on returns if you dont like something and its not working out for you. You aslo have 2 years protection on all dvices you buy so if something breaks you can bring it in. Might have to pay $50 after 60 days but its better than spending $100’s again on a mew product.
