I purchased the unit for it's functionality. I was completely wrong. It has no functionality. The portable unit works great but it is very poor for cleaning carpets of you have dogs. The majority of vacuums (yes you Dyson and Hoover) do not pick up 100% of pet hair in the carpet. When cleaning the carpet you will pick up dog hair. The unit clogs very easily. Be prepared to carry a screw driver with you to unclog the unit. I really don't have the time to use the hand tool on a 10x15 foot room to ensure the water is sucked up

Who knew that a carpet could get so dirty in just 2-1/2 months? Yes I have pets. 2 dogs & 2 cats, plus a teenager. I wish I had taken pictures to show what an amazing job this cleaner did. I absolutely love it and highly recommend it. For those that complain that the water compartment is too small need to consider that if it were bigger then the machine would be heavier and you would be complaining about that. It is extremely easy to use. Goes forward and back as easily as a vacuum cleaner. If the brush stops turning or the suction stops it is more than likely clogged because a vacuum doesn't pick up everything. It also left the carpet almost completely dry when I was done. Be patient. Do not expect it to suck all the water with just one or two swipes. Don't rush and keep going over an area until you no longer see any water being sucked up. It will be barely wet to the touch. And if you have a ceiling fan it will be dry in minutes! I almost forgot to mention the fact that you can get a portable spot cleaner as well! 2-in-1! I love this thing and can't wait to clean my car's interior with it!

Does not clean anywhere near as well as my old hoover. Looks clean at first but as it dries the spots all come back and with an odor. Tried to return but best buy would not take it, since it's past their 15 day return policy, so I just threw 250 away. Won't be buying anything big from them again. And I usually buy alot from them.

I cannot find the handle port to screw the 4 screws in so the Bissell stream cleaner is useless.

I purchased this, used it once, and the spraying function stopped working so I exchanged at Best Buy. After using the second unit the same thing happened.

This machine is great for home carpets. It has enough suction to keep the carpets from being left excessively wet. Most spots and dirt comes up easily. Tank does not hold enough solution to clean an entire room without being refilled and emptied. It is a pain to have to keep emptying the dirty water and refilling the clean solution so frequently.

We have had two of these and they both broke after a couple of months.

After a recent storm, I had water in the basement of one of my homes and decided to purchase this over a dry vac or renting of a carpet cleaner. Assembly was simple BUT the screws weren't really aligning for the larger unit and the handle/back. I was able to get it together but the back wasn't well-attached to the base. I had to go over the flooring quite a few times to get it dry enough but I felt the carpets were really clean in the end. I really like that this detaches to a smaller, more portable cleaner for use on mattresses, sofas and stairs. The unit worked really well for the latter and I will get plenty of use out of this unit so I'd definitely recommend it.

I have a first grader, a potty-training puppy, and another dog and carpets that were long overdue for a cleaning. This product did an excellent job taking out the few stains the puppy left in her first couple of days with us. I also used the spot bot to clean my kitchen rug and the difference was astounding! I have used it twice throughout the whole house and have not had any problems with suction or leaving the carpets too wet (I was actually impressed with how quickly they dried!).

I have used Bissell Shampooers for years and I have LOVED their performance. I was so disappointed with this shampooer because; 1) The excessive amount of water it leaves on the carpet; 2) The very small water/ shampoo compartment (I had to make trip after trip to the sink); 3) It is so loud I actually wear era plugs. Mind you I use a riding lawn mower so imagine how loud that would be indoors. Bissell, you really missed the "mark on this machine. Very Disappointing. I will say the lift off hand wand works great, and gets it the carpet dryer, even through it is so loud.

I normally cleaned carpets once a year with rug doctor rented from local supermarket, but skipped a couple of years but was diligent about vacuuming. After cleaning with the DeepClean Lift-Off® Deluxe Pet Upright Carpet Cleaner, it not only removed more dirt than my Meile vacuum, it removed lots of pet hair. Outstanding rug cleaner and the best I've ever used.

I read every review about this cleaner I could find. It is wonderful. I moved into a new townhouse with filthy white carpet. I have two cats no problem with litter Pan habits but throw up all over. With the cats throwing up and the dirt from before the move and after the white carpet was disgusting. I looked into professional and rental carpet cleaners finally after the reviews and the lift off tank the decision was made for me. I'm so so glad to have received this cleaner. It cleans like a champ. I used the cleaner that came with it. It was great. But I bought the heavy duty cleaner and a boost for the really really black high traffic areas. It was like I had brand new carpets. Amazing is all I can say. I did clean a few areas twice and used the lift off tank for a couple of throw up areas. And the stairs. It is a miracle machine. The absolutely disgusting carpet is white clean and very soft. You have never ever known how awful it was. I wish I had before and after pictures. It's unbelievable. If you have pets and dirty carpet buy it buy it buy it. Just also be sure to get the right cleaner to use in it for the right job. Also I want to say that I did read reviews saying it didn't suck up the water. It does just move slowly to give it a chance it's not like a vacuum cleaner. Also one last thing. The carpets were DRY in about an hour. Amazing

Cleans great - small tank, but otherwise, good unit.

Machine is the easiest part of the job. 15 years of dust and grime removed and bright colors reappear. Easy to use. Now, if cleaning up all that clutter .....

Love this cleaner! I have had a few different machines, and by far, this machine has been the best. It's gotten stains out that a professional couldn't get out! Now, some of this is the cleaner we use (we use a spot cleaner immediately and then a deep cleaner that you can buy with the machine when we are ready to clean the spot) but the cleaner does a good job getting into the carpet and getting everything out. I have 2 dogs and they are both elderly. They have accidents. I also have a husband, and 2 roommates that track in all sorts of disgusting things. The cleaner has been a dream to clean everything I needed it to, including my stairs which are carpeted and even my furniture. The carpet tends to dry in a few hours after use as long as you've gone over it a few times, pulling the excess water out. Really great machine for your money!

This cleaner has been performing for my household very well. We have 3 dogs and do our floors every 3 weeks or so. The cleaner still has the same cleaning power as it did months ago when we bought it. I didnt think I would use the pull out feature often but i find myself using that more than the upright for furniture spills and small clean up. It pops right out and is ready for battle.

This thing works great for stains that have been set in or just plain cleaning your rug. I have used it a handful and never lets me down.

Great cleaner and the portability of this unit is perfect for multilevel homes!
