The Blink Outdoor 4 is designed to deliver up to two years of battery life using the included AA 1.5V lithium metal batteries, based on default settings. However, battery life will vary based on device settings, use, and environmental factors. Here are some tips to help extend your battery life and get the most out of your device:

Make sure you are using AA 1.5V lithium metal batteries (non-rechargeable), such as Energizer Ultimate Lithium, as standard alkaline or rechargeable batteries will drain much faster. In the Blink app, you can also lower the motion sensitivity, reduce clip length, increase the retrigger time between recordings, and limit how often you use Live View — all of which can significantly reduce battery consumption. Positioning your camera to avoid high-traffic areas or objects that move frequently in the wind, like trees and bushes, will also help minimize unnecessary motion triggers.

For a more long-term solution, the Blink Outdoor 4 Battery Extension Pack is an accessory designed specifically for the Outdoor 4 that adds 2 additional AA batteries, effectively doubling the battery life from approximately 2 years to up to 4 years. Additionally, the Blink Solar Panel Mount is another great option that provides continuous solar charging, reducing the need for battery replacement altogether.
